It was a warm and sunny afternoon as Bruno and Y/n watched their 4 year-olds play on their favorite hilltop.

The couple decided to take the twins for a picnic, just like Y/n loved to go on with her Papa.

They had just finished their lunch of sandwiches, chips, fruit, and lemonade. Now they were watching their children play.

"Reminds me of all the time we spent exploring, you know?" Bruno asked as he held his wife close. She grinned at him.

"Like that time we were pretending to find the lost treasure of the Encanto?" She asked. He laughed.

"I remember that! We had heard from some older kids that the reason our parents stopped here was because of a legend of hidden treasure."

"Yep. The treasure was supposedly buried in the valley somewhere. The location was unknown because the landscape changed so quickly." she smiled.

"The older kids were speculating where the treasure could be and what it was."

"So we decided we would find the treasure ourselves! All we ended up with was scraped knees and laughing parents!"

"After they scolded us! I had never seen Mama so mad!" Bruno shuddered. Y/n shuddered too. She could still hear Alma's voice ringing in her ears.

"What about that time we went into the forest to look for flowers for me to use in my bath set?"

"Yeah, you wanted to find a new scent to make."

"I wanted to surprise Mama with how clever I was"

"But you were startled by a toucan. The screech you made when you jumped back was hilarious!" He grinned impishly at her. She pouted.

"That toucan came out of nowhere! And it flew right into my face! What was I supposed to do? Let it hit me?" That did it, he couldn't help the boisterous laugh that erupted at the memory.

"What about the time you fell into the river?" She asked slyly.

The day she was talking about happened when they were eleven.

It was a quiet day in the village. Her Papa had left for one of his trips, and her Mama was home with her little brother.

Bruno had finished his work early, only having a single vision lined up for the day. So the young pair decided to take a walk around the outskirts of the village.

They were just chatting about whatever they had done that day, when they suddenly heard a loud rumbling.

At first Y/n thought Pepa was about to cause a thunderstorm, but then they realized the rumbling was from something ahead of them.

It was some horses that were galloping towards them. The horses had been startled by something and were running away from the loud noise.

Bruno and Y/n had to quickly jump out of the road to keep from being trampled. Y/n had ended up in a patch of wildflowers on the side of the road.

Bruno ended up tumbling down a hill and into the river below.

"Ugh. It took forever to get the water out of my ruana. It was practically ruined!" He grumbled.

"Better losing your ruana than your life, mi vida." Y/n said softly as she took his hand. He looked down at her hand and smiled softly.

"That's true" He spoke just as softly as he gazed into her bright eyes.

He could feel butterflies fluttering about in his stomach as he stared at her. The way her skin seemed to glow in the afternoon sun and the gentle breeze playing with her hair. The way her eyes gazed softly into his and the gentle smile on her face.

"You look like an angel mi amor." He breathed, his lips fluttering lightly on hers as he drew her in close. He closed the distance between them with a tender kiss, mindful of their children just a short distance away.

They pulled apart when they heard Reyna's laughter. They turned to their daughter, who was laughing joyously at the butterfly that landed on her knee.

Pedro studied the butterfly curiously until it flew away.

"Mami, Papa? Did you see that butterfly? It was so pretty!" The little girl asked.

"We sure did mi corazon!" Bruno grinned as he picked her up, causing the four year old to laugh happily.

Pedro smiled as he walked over to his mother and crawled into her lap.

"It's really nice up here Mami. Can we come back here soon?" He asked her.

"Of course we can. Did you know I used to come here with your Abuelo?" Y/n asked. Pedro stared up at her in surprise.

"Really?"

"I did. I loved coming here for picnics. My papa and I would sit here and watch the sunset. The way the mountains glowed as the sun went down was truly beautiful. I loved it up here.

When the sun did set, the small family sat together. Y/n held Pedro and Bruno had his daughter in his lap.

The twins gasped in amazement as the mountains lit up with the fading sun. Their eyes were wide as they took in all the lovely sights.

"So pretty..." Reyna whispered. Pedro nodded in agreement.

The two adults smiled at each other, glad that they brought their kids to such a special place.

Later that night Y/n grinned at her husband. They had just gotten Reyna and Pedro settled down. Y/n was getting changed for the night, and Bruno was reading in bed.

"The kids really enjoyed the hilltop picnic. I thought they would. It was a great way to end the day." Bruno stated, looking up at his wife.

"I had loved that hilltop so much as a little girl, going up there with Papa. I always wanted to share that experience with my own kids someday. I'm so glad we took the twins today." She replied.

She crawled into bed beside the fortune teller and pulled him in for a kiss. Bruno set his book down, a smile on his face. The couple relished in the magical feelings brought up by the wonderful evening they had spent with their children.

Y/n and Bruno knew their love for each other would never fade. It was as strong and beautiful as the mountains of the Encanto.

It was truly Magical.
