Takes place the morning after Overworked

(Bruno's pov)

I wasn't surprised to find that Y/n was still asleep when I woke up. She really hadn't been taking care of herself lately.

I decided to surprise her this morning. I reluctantly remove myself from her embrace. I smiled down at her as she turned and buried her head in my pillow.

I went down to the kitchen and wasn't surprised to see Julieta already working on breakfast and preparing for her day.

I bid her a good morning and asked if I could take our breakfast to our room.

"That is very sweet of you Brunito. Of course you can. Dios knows Y/n needs all the rest she can get." Julieta smiled at me.

"My thoughts exactly. In fact I don't think she should even go to her shop today. She's been cooped up n there for far too long." I replied.

"I'm so glad you're making her take a break, hermano. I've been worried about her. She always looked so exhausted even as she ran around her basement."

"I can imagine. A day of relaxation is just what the healer has prescribed." I joked, earning a laugh from my sister.

"Here's the prescription." She wrote on a piece of notebook paper, going along with the joke.

"I'll make sure she takes it." I replied, as I gathered our breakfast on a tray.

I poured a couple of glasses of orange juice instead of coffee, earning a not approval from Julieta.

I brought the food up to my room, smiling at the woman in my bed. She looked so adorable I didn't want to wake her up.

I knew I had to though, because she needs to eat.

"Wake up mi amor." I whispered to her as I brushed my lips against her forehead. She hummed at the sensation, a little smile on her face. She blinked sleepily at me.

"Buenos dias mi vida." She smiled.

"Buenos dias Sweetheart." I smiled back. "I brought breakfast." I told her as I helped her sit up in the bed. I sat beside her and placed the tray between us.

We kept conversation light as we ate our food. I could see the magic working on her as she perked up as she ate.

The fatigue that had been plaguing her just yesterday seemed to vanish. She wasn't quite as energetic as she normally would be, but I wasn't surprised.

I did tell her I just wanted to spend the day with her. She smiled up at me.

"That sounds wonderful Bruno. I don't really need to head into the shop anyway. I finished everything I needed to for a while." She replied.

We cuddled each other for a little while, just enjoying the feeling of being together again.

When I suggested taking a walk, she smiled.

She walked over to the dresser where she had been keeping a several outfits as she slowly moved her stuff here. She grabbed a dress and left the room to get ready for the day.

I left my bedroom, taking the tray and dishes to the kitchen.

The house was empty as I washed the dishes and sat the clean plate and cups on the counter for Casita to put away.

I smiled as Y/n came in, looking refreshed and obviously feeling better than earlier.

We left the house, hand in hand. We told each other jokes and funny stories, reminding me of light-hearted days as kids.

We ran into my sisters while we were out. They were both happy to see Y/n outside.

We wandered through the forest, and Y/n took a look at the various flowers. Taking notes on which ones, she wanted to try for new scents.

I smiled at her and told her to wait there. I rushed back to Casita for my basket.

I returned minutes later with the basket, and we spent the afternoon collecting wild flowers for her supplies.

I helped her select the most fragrant plants and added several of each to the basket.

When we were done, we brought the flowers to her workshop and she took some pictures of the flowers for future reference. I helped her remove all the flower petals from the various flowers and placed each flower onto separate paper towels.

We got her pestles and mortars to crush the petals, before she prepped some mason jars.

Y/n began adding the crushed petals to the mason jars and covered them in her favorite oil. She put the stopper and shook the jars, and I sat them in her pantry to sit for 24 hours.

We washed up afterwards and made our way back into the afternoon sun.

"Want to get a smoothie?" Y/n asked. I grinned and took her hand in mine, leading her to the smoothie shop.

We took our smoothies to the grotto as it was getting a bit too hot to just be outside. The grotto was always nice and cool.

We talked about the essential oils we had worked on today. I had wondered what she would use them for.

"Probably candles. Some might make good bath products, but I don't know yet. Those would need some testing before I send them to the shop." She replied."Depends on how they turn out, though. If they turn out well, I'll see what I can do with them."

The conversation moved off of work and onto other topics, like the wedding and hopes for the future.

All in all, it was a very peaceful day, one they both needed. The couple returned to Casita in a better mood then either had been the night before.

They had a great dinner with the family as the family talked to them about wedding plans, and his sisters were talking about how their wedding had gone. The husbands made light jokes about married life, but none of it even fazed the couple.

They went to bed that night with big smiles on their faces, holding each other close.
