A quick timeline

Time line

A much Needed Break- Isabela and Dolores have just had their first birthdays. Y/n was about 2 months (~8 weeks) pregnant in that story. She told Bruno and Madrigals when she was 3 months (~12 weeks) pregnant.

This means Isabela and Dolores are 19 months old when Y/n goes into labor, and they are one month away from their 3rd birthdays (about 35 months old) in this story.

Bruno's and Y/n's twins are 16 months old in this story

Just wanted to clear that up if there is any confusion!

STORY START

It's been nearly two years since I've been in my workshop.

I knew about six weeks into my pregnancy, that I was pregnant, and that was when I changed my work schedule. I knew that I couldn't make my orders for too much longer.

I had waited until my second doctor visit to tell the family the exciting news. I wanted to make sure everything was good before I told them.

The announcement was met with great joy and excitement from the entire family.

Alma was so excited for the new arrival. More grandchildren meant new gifts. Even though she wasn't as obsessed with overworking the family, she is curious about what the child will be able to do in the future.

She was especially excited when we found out that we were having twins, and that one of them would be a boy. Honestly, I don't know who was more excited. Alma or Bruno? It was hard to say.

She cried in joy when the babies were born and we introduced our children, Reyna and Pedro, to the family.

My parents were just as excited as Alma. My Mama took over my orders for me so I didn't have to worry about the supply at the shops. B/n was roped into helping her.

Papa made lists of things he could get for us on his trips out. Things like baby books, diapers, clothes, and supplies that we don't have a lot of here. There hasn't really been much need for a lot of baby stuff here because there is just now being a baby boom in the village.

There were a few babies born before Isabela and Dolores, but now there are more people having kids now that there are new Madrigals.

As soon as I told the family, Julieta was hard at work. She was compiling a list of pregnancy symptoms since they were still so fresh in her mind from having Isabella. Pepa was usually roped into helping her. Together, the sisters made lists of what to do and not to do, as well as what to expect.

She was more than happy to help out with morning sickness, swollen feet, and back pain. She made sure to always have small snacks available in the kitchen in case I needed them.

Pepa was super excited. Especially when we found out the genders. The redhead was excited for her niece and her first nephew. She kept the sky sunny and warm for several days after hearing the news.

She was often seen making dresses in earthy colors to follow my husbands color scheme. Our favorite outfits were a plum purple dress with a sage green bow for Reyna. She made Pedro an adorable charcoal grey ruana to go with a brown outfit to match his papa.

My brother-in-laws were just as excited for the babies as their wives were. The pair were often seen scouring the baby store for stuffed animals and onesies for the children.

They bought a toucan stuffed animal for Reyna and a Capuchin monkey stuffed animal for Pedro. They were adorable.

My husband was both excited and nervous about fatherhood. He was such a sweetheart during my pregnancy. He never faltered, even during bad mood swings.

Bruno was nervous about being a father. He worried that the children would struggle to make friends because of him, or be seen as bad luck. He worried that he'd be a bad father, or that he might frighten them with his nightmares or random visions.

I always made sure to reassure him that he is a wonderful son, brother, tio and husband.

"Being a wonderful Papa is just the next natural step mi amor. You will be fine." I'd tell him.

He worked hard to make sure that I was comfortable during the course of my pregnancy. He'd always ask how I'm feeling and if I need anything. He doted on me when I wasn't feeling well and was happy to hold me when I cried for no reason.

He handled my morning sickness like a pro, and he didn't bat an eyelash at my random and sometimes gross looking cravings.

Bruno stayed close by during my third trimester, ready to help me stand up when I struggled with my balance. He helped me with my shoes, and he'd rub my aching back or swollen feet.

Even Casita helped us. The house created a delivery room that was equipped with everything we would need for a successful birth. We discovered the room about a month before my due date.

The day my babies were born, I knew things were happening.

Alma and Julieta both warned me of what to look out for in the hours leading up to the birth.

So when I woke up to cramps, irregular contractions and back pain, I knew it was close.

I let everyone know that it was getting close. Julieta, Alma and Bruno kept a close eye on me all day long. I was always within reach of one of those three.

Pepa, and my brother-in-laws decided to stay with the girls. Keep them busy and away from the delivery room for once things ramp up.

My three guardians kept asking throughout the day how I was feeling, and if I needed anything.

It was just after dinner when my water broke. I was in the bathroom once again, when I felt the slight gush.

Bruno stood outside the bathroom, ready to jump into action if I sounded even the slightest bit in pain.

So when I called out to him, he stepped in like a knight in shining armor. He took in my pained expression, and the way I was hunched over, hand on my stomach.

He barely took note of the water on the floor as he reached for me. With a gentle hand on my back and his other hand holding mine, he guided me out of the bathroom. He led me to the delivery room, Casita calling out to everyone else that it was time.

Bruno stayed by my side during the entire birth, regardless of what his mother and sisters said.

They tried to complain about how men did not belong in the delivery room. However, they quickly realized that I needed my husband beside me. He calmed my fears and helped me focus on bringing our children into the world.

I was truly grateful for everything he had done over the several months since I had revealed my pregnancy to him.

I made sure to tell him just how grateful I was once the children were sleeping in our arms.

Reyna is our firstborn, and she's an active little girl who adores her Papa. From the moment she began crawling, she was constantly following Bruno everywhere. He couldn't be happier. He constantly tells the little girl about how she is just like me.

She has his beautiful curly locks, and my eyes and nose.

Pedro is the opposite, with my hair and his Papa's features. He's such a quiet baby that is more interested in observing things while being held by whomever was available.

When Alma and I took him to the market the first time, Pedro just looked around quietly from my arms. His wide eyes taking in everything he could observe.

She mentioned that Bruno had been just like his son. Preferring to observe his surroundings rather than get into mischief like his sisters, especially Pepa.

Three months ago, Bruno decided to enjoy a bonding day with the twins, so I took the opportunity to get in touch with my customers and commence preliminary work.

I started off by checking my inventory. Needing to know what I was low on, and what needed to be replaced.

I went to each shop to determine what products I should make first once I returned to work.

(Time skip)

Today was my first day back to work, and I was super busy making various essential oils and fragrances for my various products.

I had quite a list of things that I needed to make as the shop keepers began to reduce the amount of products they made in order to prepare to return to full time shop owners.

I was just straining the last scented oils into their jars when there was a gentle knock on my door.

"Come in." I called out to my visitor. My husband opened the door, but didn't step inside.

"Ah...you uh...missed dinner, cariño ." He notified me when I bestowed him a questioning look. I examined the window on the other side of my workshop, surprised to see the sunset.

"I'll meet you out there mi amor. I just need to wash up from the days work." I answered with an embarrassed flush. He smiled lovingly and nodded before closing the door.

I carefully sealed each jar of scented oil, and put all of the supplies away. I let the pots I had used soak in the large sink I had in the back of the workshop while I took a quick shower.

I went into the bedroom and found my husband with the biggest grin as he watched our twins babble at each other in the playpen.

Pedro was the first to notice me, and he lifted his arms up towards me. I smiled and went over to pick him up.

"How are my babies today? Did you have fun with Papa?"

"Papa." Pedro smiled as he set his head on me. I turned to Bruno and saw he had tears in his eyes.

He stood up and took Pedro, so I can grab our worn-out daughter. He cuddled our son for a moment, and I smiled at my husband.

"Did you behave yourself for Papa?" I asked Reyna, who merely replied with a yawn.

We took the twins to the nursery, where Isabella and Delores were already asleep in their toddler beds.

I grinned as I watched Bruno lay our children in their cribs, leaning over each baby to place a kiss on their little foreheads.

He closed the nursery door, and we walked back to the tower.

He gushed about how much he enjoyed playing with the kids. I told him I knew he'd be a wonderful father.

After we had returned to the bedroom, I ate the arepas Bruno brought up for me as we talked about our days.

I told him about the oils I had prepped today, and the body washes I had planned to make tomorrow.

He was telling me about the games he played and the books he read for the twins.

As happy as I was to be working on my crafts again, I must admit the best part of my day was watching Bruno be the amazing Papa I knew he would be.

What more could I ask for?
