Rey's POV

The moment I saw Shreya...

I completely forgot where I was.

I just stood there staring.

How could one woman look that beautiful doing absolutely nothing extraordinary?

No heavy jewelry.

No dramatic makeup.

No designer gown.

No attempt to impress anyone.

And somehow...

she looked breathtaking.

Her skin glowed naturally under the warm lights of the room.

Her straight hair rested softly over her shoulders.

That orange kurti somehow made her look even prettier than every expensive dress I had ever seen women wear around me.

I suddenly remembered all the women I had dated before.

Short dresses.

Too much perfume.

Perfect makeup.

Artificial smiles.

Everything loud.

And then there was Shreya.

Simple.

Elegant.

Effortlessly beautiful.

I smiled unconsciously.

My Shreya looks perfect.

Wait.

I froze.

My Shreya?

God.

I was falling hard.

Dangerously hard.

I was so lost staring at her that I didn't even realize the entire room had gone silent.

Until her grandfather suddenly spoke.

"Well, Mrs. Singhania..."

His calm voice brought me back instantly.

"I hope you had no difficulty finding our little home."

Mother smiled warmly.

"Mr. Joshi..."

She looked around.

"This is hardly a little home."

I noticed Grandfather smile faintly.

Then his expression became serious.

"But I believe we should discuss the reason we are all here."

The room instantly shifted.

Business mode.

Family mode.

Judgment mode.

Excellent.

He folded his hands.

"My family is willing to consider this marriage."

Mother visibly brightened.

But he continued.

"However..."

He looked directly at me.

"We have heard enough about your son's playboy lifestyle."

That made Mother clear her throat awkwardly.
