Abhay Joshi had a problem.

Not that he knew it.

Because Abhay noticed everything.

Patterns.

Money.

Political strategy.

Human weakness.

Business instincts.

Intentions hidden behind words.

He could calculate risk before most people even noticed opportunity.

He had inherited his uncle's political sharpness.

His mother's discipline.

And somehow developed an annoyingly dangerous ability to read people within minutes.

Which was ironic.

Because for four straight years of college...

He completely failed to notice one girl.

Mehr Kapoor.

Now to be fair—

Mehr wasn't exactly the type Abhay noticed.

She wasn't polished like Delhi's rich South Delhi socialite girls.

She belonged to those wealthy circles.

Old money.

Generational wealth.

But she herself?

Absolute disaster.

Messy ponytail.

Oversized sweatshirts.

Would forget assignments.

Would laugh too loudly.

Would eat everyone's fries.

Always losing her car keys.

Always arguing with professors.

And because their larger college friend group lived in roughly the same area—

They all carpooled.

Every day.

Same car.

Same route.

Same people.

For four years.

And during those four years—

Mehr Kapoor fell stupidly, helplessly, ridiculously in love with Abhay Joshi.

The tragedy?

Abhay Joshi was busy dating every girl except the one sitting three inches away from him every morning.

Life was cruel.

Leaving

Graduation day.

Everybody celebrating.

Crying.

Drunk.

Taking photos.

And Mehr stood watching Abhay laugh with some girl from economics department.

Again.

Something broke quietly inside her.

Enough.

London Business School had accepted her MBA application.

She was leaving India.
