Rey's POV

My weekend went better than expected.

Which is dangerous.

Because in my life, anything that goes "too well" usually comes with a pending disaster clause.

But this time—

no disaster.

Only Shreya.

And that alone is suspicious.

The ride back from Rania to Delhi felt quieter than usual.

My mother was beside me, scrolling through her phone, occasionally smiling like she was planning a wedding, a political summit, and a cultural revolution all at once.

I already knew I had lost control of my life.

But honestly?

No regrets.

Not this time.

Because somewhere between chaos, arguments, and that girl stepping on my foot like it was a stress-relief mat—

I had stopped fighting it.

My mother suddenly looked at me.

"Oh, you're smiling again."

I frowned. "I'm not."

She nodded knowingly. "You are thinking about her."

"I'm thinking about work."

She hummed. "Same thing these days."

I had no comeback for that.

Annoying.

Just like Shreya.

Next Day — Delhi Office

I was buried in files when the door opened.

Without waiting.

Of course.

Because in my life, privacy is optional.

A familiar voice floated in.

"Mr. Singhania, I am here to get my leave sanctioned."

I didn't look up.

"Oh? Again?"

I finally raised my eyes.

Shreya.

Standing there.

Smiling like she was not responsible for half my mental instability.

I leaned back slightly.

"Ms. Joshi... you just came back from a 2-day leave."

She tilted her head. "And?"

"There was Diwali leave. Then Sunday. Then breathing time. Now you want more leave?"

She walked in slowly.

Locked the door.

I raised a brow. "That's new."

She walked closer.

Sat on my lap.

Yes.

My brain paused.

"Shreya—"

She smiled sweetly and kissed my cheek.

"Reason enough?"

I exhaled slowly.

"This is emotional bribery."

She nodded. "Effective?"
