Rey's POV

I still couldn't process what Shreya had said five minutes ago.

You stole my first kiss.

I leaned back in my chair, staring blankly at the ceiling.

Impossible.

Absolutely impossible.

How could a woman like Shreya Joshi — beautiful, confident, intelligent, ridiculously stubborn — have never kissed anyone before?

That thought alone did something dangerously satisfying to my ego.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

A slow grin spread across my face.

So underneath all that attitude...

there was still innocence.

And suddenly, I found myself wanting to know much more about her.

Not through investigators.

Not through company files.

Not through background reports.

No.

This time...

I wanted to know her myself.

Unfortunately, my deeply philosophical thoughts about my future wife were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Come in."

Harish stepped inside holding a tablet.

"Sir, apologies for disturbing you, but you have an appointment with Mr. Vijay Joshi at The Taj."

He checked his watch.

"If you don't leave now, there is a very high chance your future children may never exist."

I stared.

Harish smiled nervously.

"...Sir, I mean you'll be late."

I pointed at him.

"You're either getting fired..."

I paused.

"...or getting a raise."

He blinked.

"That is deeply confusing, sir."

I stood up grabbing my blazer.

"One more thing."

"Keep all my meetings on hold."

Harish immediately frowned.

"All of them?"

"Yes."

"If this meeting goes well..."

I smirked.

"You're getting promoted."

Harish looked alarmed.

"Sir, should I be worried?"

"Probably."

He sighed dramatically.

"Sir... whatever dangerous thing you are doing..."

He adjusted his glasses.

"...I hope it works."

Then he added quietly—

"Also I find it concerning that you're willingly meeting a politician."

I smirked.
