I remained seated for several moments after Reyhansh Singhania left the room.
I had dealt with powerful businessmen before.
Politicians.
Industrialists.
Manipulative people.
But this young man had managed to genuinely shock me.
Marriage.
He had come here to negotiate marriage.
For my Shreya.
I leaned back slowly and exhaled.
Now normally...
If any random man had walked in and spoken about my niece as casually as if he were negotiating a merger—
I would have thrown him out.
Possibly through the window.
But this situation was different.
The biggest reason being—
Shreya had apparently agreed.
And that bothered me.
Not because I doubted her judgment.
Quite the opposite.
That girl never made impulsive decisions.
If she had agreed...
Then she had definitely calculated every possible angle.
Business.
Family.
Consequences.
Future.
That child had always been frighteningly practical.
Still masking my shock behind anger, I immediately dialed my younger brother Ajay — Shreya's father.
At the same time, I added our father to the conference call.
The phone connected.
Ajay answered first.
"What happened bhaiya?"
I got straight to the point.
For the next three minutes, I explained everything.
Absolute silence followed.
Then Father spoke first.
Calm as always.
"Do what you think is right..."
He paused.
"But do not ruin the girl's happiness."
That old man somehow always sounded like he was narrating life lessons from ancient scriptures.
Ajay sighed heavily.
"No one is taking any decision in a hurry."
His voice had become serious.
"This is Shreya's entire life."
He paused briefly.
"I'm already on my way back."
"I'll reach Delhi within four hours."
Then suddenly his businessman instincts kicked in.
"Invite his family for dinner tonight."
"We meet them first."
"We decide after that."
