When Hope finally came to, she was incredibly disorientated as she got off the ground. As she slowly started to remember how she ended up in that position, her heart dropped. The tribrid wondered if she was too late and Lizzie had already taken the deal but a loud growling took her immediate attention.
Resonating through the forest, Hope grabbed the closest thing that would count as a weapon. She picked up a large piece of wood and snapped it in half as the Minotaur charged in her direction.
But before the monster could get remotely close to her, an arrow zipped through the air and pierced the Minotaur in its nape. The Minotaur tumbled down with a cry and the creature went still.
Hope froze in her spot, baffled as she stared at the still creature at her feet. Hope looked up in the direction the arrow came from to see Lizzie holding a bow and proudly smiling. "Where did you get that?" she beamed, confused but impressed. "Who's he?" Hope asked as she saw a man come up behind her.
Lizzie grinned at the man who had lent her the bow. "This is Frank," she introduced before she handed the weapon back. "Thanks for your help." Frank left and Lizzie confidently strutted over to Hope.
"I thought you were taking the deal?"
"I realised it would be perpetuating the patriarchy. There's always someone telling women they only exist for one reason. We even told it to ourselves," Lizzie articulated as she came to a stop in front of Hope. "I am done playing that game."
Hope nodded in agreement as a weak bellowing and huffing came from the Minotaur. "Screw endgame," she declared and drove the piece of wood into the back of the creature's skull.

This time, the girls woke up in the real Mystical Falls. No one dressed in flashy 80's attire or any Minotaur running around. It was the Mystic Falls that they had grown up in. They had beaten the game and escaped the labyrinth as well as freed the Keeper.
Their first instinct was to run back to the Salvatore School, but seeing the students enjoying the decade dance, a weight lifted off their shoulders knowing that everyone was alright.
After getting changed into more comfortable clothing, the two girls set off to the Lockwood Estate. Using their magic to light the way, they found the abandoned mansion. The last time it was opened was during exam week but since then it had been closed down.
"Alex better be grateful when we find her because I do not trudge around the forest at two in the morning for anyone," Lizzie let out an exasperated sigh as she carefully stepped over the many loose branches on the ground.
Hope ignored the comment as she continued to lead the way. Her muscles tensed unwillingly and she kept her jaw clenched as they finally arrived at the Lockwood Mansion still standing tall after many years.
