Much time had passed since Josie disappeared suddenly that night. With no sign of the witch, it left everyone on high alert. But as the days rolled by, some people started to wonder if she would ever return while others worried about what diabolical plan she could possibly be planning in her time away. Either way, the Salvatore students had to go about their daily lives, ignoring the fact that the dark witch's return was only a matter of time.
With the disappearance of her twin, Lizzie hadn't been able to sleep properly. Knowing that her sister was out there, harbouring all that powerful black magic made her skin crawl. She would stare blankly into her sister's side of the room every night. It was starting to show with her sunken eyes, but she took extra care every morning to cover it up as best she could.
The Headmaster knew he couldn't hide behind his doors any longer. His daughter was hard to track and he had made no progress on figuring out how he could possibly rid the black magic from her. But with questions from staff and students, he was forced to gather the school in the assembly room to discuss what would happen moving forward. As he stared out into the crowd, he saw the frightened and confused expressions of his students. He gripped the podium tightly but masked his own fear and worry with a straight posture and neutral expression. Hoping to maintain a composed appearance as he stood with the little faculty the school had.
"I know you're all worried. Believe me, no one is more worried than I am," Alaric began as he scanned the room. "My daughter, Josie, is still missing. But even as I speak, we're doing everything we can to find her," he spoke clearly and confidently to reassure his students. "Jed and the wolves are attempting to track her. Kaleb and the vampires have compelled local police for any help that they can provide. We will find her and bring her home," he promised but cleared his throat as he felt his hand begin to tap nervously. "That said, I just want to reiterate, under no circumstance should any of you approach her. While she is our with family and friend, she is under the influence of black magic and... not herself. Your safety and Josie's, is my top priority. I promise you, I will get through to her and bring back the Josie we know and love safely. But first, we just have to find her–"
Alaric's speech was cut off as the assembly doors suddenly burst open with a loud bang. At the loud noise, everyone's head turned to the source, but none were expecting to see none other than Josie herself.
She strutted confidently passed the doors and all could see just how comfortably she was settling in with the black magic. The witch wore a black dress with lace sleeves and black high heel boots.
"I'm right here, dad," she announced and with a slight raise of her hands, Josie was able to glide down the stairs.
It was only then that the Salvatore students could see her up close. Jet black hair with faint black veins sprouting from her temple and neck. The dark makeup she wore and blood-red lips proved to be a statement. A statement which sparked fear among them.
