"My colleague tells me that she's impressed with your progress over the weeks. I'm very proud of you, Alexandria. You've come a long way since the last time I saw you," Emma praised as she skimmed over Alexandria's file with a smile on her face.

Although, the Sinclair girl didn't share the same enthusiasm as she sat across from Emma. The only thing that occupied Alexandria's mind was the fact that Emma had a part to play in sending Sebastian to the prison world.

Alexandria had grown to trust Emma during their sessions. There were many times when Alexandria found herself in a dark place, but Emma helped her through it each time. While gradual, the hybrid truly felt safe expressing her innermost thoughts and feelings. But with recent developments, she began to wonder if the trust she had in the woman was misplaced. Alexandria wondered if Emma was aware of the Headmaster's plans. If she wanted the same thing he did. To send her away.

"So–"

"Did you know?" Alexandria suddenly interrupted.

Emma exhaled slowly, already knowing the conversation coming ahead. "Dr. Saltzman called me while I was still on my sabbatical and told me of his plans, to which I denied immediately," she informed her.

Alexandria narrowed her eyes as she heard the answer. "But you still decided to come back to send Sebastian," she accused.

Emma slowly nodded. "I haven't been here for the past few weeks because of personal issues. What was happening here at school was a complete mystery to me. So, when Dr. Saltzman, a man that I have worked alongside for years, told me that there was a vampire that posed a threat to the students... I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt," Emma began to explain, careful of her tone so as to not anger Alexandria further. "Was it right? I don't know. But when he mentioned how you were doing, and his plans to send you away too, that I couldn't agree with," she added and watched as Alexandria's eyes narrowed slightly.

Alexandria's jaw clenched as she shifted in her spot and crossed her arms over her chest. She listened to her words carefully and listened to her heart. But she knew not to trust so easily. Emma had been counselling the students at the Salvatore School for years. Alexandria figured that she would've had to get good at lying if she would have to counsel vampires who could pick up on small details like the slight skip of a heartbeat.

The woman's lips formed a tight line as she sensed Alexandria's mistrust. "The difference between you and Sebastian was that you were and still are a student of the Salvatore School. A student who needed to be helped and not sent away. And it is supposed to be my job to give you that help," Emma expressed with sincerity as she leaned forward in her seat.

Emma tried to reach out to Alexandria, but she was aware that the prison world fiasco had cost her some of that trust she had built with the student.

Alexandria stayed silent as the words sank in. The thing was, that Alexandria did truly believe her. But she couldn't forget what she saw in the prison world. What ten years did to the Headmaster's old students.
