Chpater twenty one-"Alone in the woods"

Glenn and Shane got back not to long ago Carol however we just as upset as before I moved a stirring while as Shane pushed off a car Shane gave us some jobs to do I jumped out of the way when the back of the tires got close Carol never left the edge of the hill

I walked around the car and up to Glenn who held a box in his hand"Here let me"I said taking it from him he smiled and allowed it we walked back up with the others"were not going anywhere till my daughter gets back"I heard Carol say

"Hey that goes without saying"Mom said as I placed the box with the others we had found I bent down and picked out a water that I had found Glenn would need some"Rick and Daryl they're on it okay just a matter of time"

I walked up to them and handed Glenn a water my hands brushing his"Cant be soon enough for me"I said taking a drink of my own bottle of water"Im still shaken up from that herd that's what you call it right"I asked looking at them

"yeah what was that all of them just marching along like that"Glenn said looking over at me then Shane"A heard that sounds about right Avery"I nodded listening to him"Weve seen it its like the night camp got attacked some wandering pack only a few"

"Food"I said with a smile putting it in my bag I walked towards the back of the car and lifted up the the back"you were shook up Avs are you sure your okay"I sighed rubbing my eyes"Glenn I'm fine I just need to keep my mind busy I can think about Sophia"

I pulled away when I heard a radio with voice"whares that coming from"I asked looking around"Over there"We followed it running into Dale on the way"this is a civil emergency"The radio said in the car Shane turned on said

"Is that a local signal"Glenn asked as we walked up to mom and Shane"Its got to be within 50 miles of here"Dale said looking around"Avoid anyone infected at all costs remain calm help is on the way the emergency alert system has been activated-"Shane leaned down and turned it off before we heard anything else

"Asshole"Shane said with a sigh"Okay let's get back to work"I looked at him Counfusd why did he turn this car on  in the first place I followed Glenn who walked away once again"wanna get this car"Glenn asked pointing at it"sure"I said as we went through the car I pulled out a suite case surprisingly clothes that I'm into

"Did yiu get clothes from a car"I asked pulling it out"Yeah there in the Rv"I nodded as he looked under  the seats"All tight there's nothing here"He said coming out of the car

The sun was going down we found some food and some water it was all in a pile in front of an Rv"Here"Glenn said handing me an Axe from an Arsenal that Carl had found I held it

"Do you think taking her gun was the best idea"Glenn said as we watched Dale with the Rv"I don't want her to hurt herself She dosan't know what she wants"I sighed and looked over at Andrea who was by Carol"Avery hand me a flat head please"I leaned down and grabed it and handed it to him

He tinkered with it I froze when Andrea made her way over"Wheres my gun"she asked standing next to me"you have no right to take it"Glenn grabed my arm and dragged me away from the fight that was going to happen"I understand why Dale's doing it"I said leaning foen to pick up a basket

Glenn picked up one next to it"I would have done the same thing if it were you so I understand it to"I smiled at him as we walked back uo to Shane and Daryl"Oh God they're back"I looked at Glenn then at the hill I gasped and put my basket down and ran up next to carol

"You didn't find her"Carol cryed  I sighed and held her hand"Her trail went cold well pick it up again at first light i looked behind me and saw Glenn I grabed Carol's arm tight"You can't leave my daughter out there on her own to spend the night alone in the woods m"She sobbed

"Out in the darks no good we'd just be tripping over ourselves more people get lost"Daryl said holding his crossbow"But she's 12 she can't be out there on her own you didn't find anything"I put my hand around her back and grabed her hand"I know this is hard but im asking you not to Painic we know she was out there"dad said putting his hands up

"And we tracker her for a while"Daryl added trying to calm down Carol"we have to make this an organized effort Daryl knows the woods better then anybody I've asked him to oversee this"But Carols right she just a kid and she's always had someone protecting her

"I-Is that blood"Carol looked down at Daryls pants that had blood on it"we took down a walker"I closed my eyes ans stepped up next to Glenn mom took my place because she knows how to comfort Carol more then I do"Walker oh my God"

"There wae no sign it was ever anywhere near sophia"I looked at dad confused how how could he know that"How do you know that"I asked looking at him and then Daryl "We cut the son of a bitch open made sure"That shows how much dad cares

Carol sat down on the railing mom sat next to her holding her hand"How could you just leave her out there to begin with"I glared at her at her words"How could you just leave her"she said again"Those two walkers were on us I had to draw them off it was her best chance"

I scoffed and stormed into the Rv I didn't know why I was so pissed the way she looked at my dad I know her daughter just got lost but how could she blame my dad he went after her that should be enough

I didn't even realize I was crying intell I sat down on the kitchen table and put my hands over my eyes that's when I felt the wetness"Avery"I sniffed and looked up at Glenn"How could she blame him how could she blame my dad"He sighed and sat next to me

"She scared she just lost her kid"My lip started quivering"I know I know"I said laying my hands on my head"I think your just tired You haven't sleep since the C.D.C"Glenn said putting his arm around my shoulders I sniffed leaning my head on his shoulder
