chapter nineteen-"highway"

Avery pov

It has been a day since the C.D.C we went to a place dad had been when they went to town with Glenn apparently he got kidnapped by these people and I didn't even know it it was a nursing home and we stayed the night there collected anything we could find Glenn was so sure the people that were there would take us in

Now we were ditching the cars we didn't need all the people at that place with a man named G that place was gone so we searched it before moving on we took all the gas out of the truck Daryl was driving

I was helping clean out one of the other cars while mom had Carl go into the back once we were done I walked up to Glenn who was talking with my dad"I know you'll do whatever to save her life and for that I am grateful"I heard Dad say

"She my world and I'm glad you like me because that would have been awkward"I smiled and looked down before I announce myself"Hey were done with the cars"I said walking up next to Glenn"we collected all the gas"Glenn said looking back at Me

"Let's move out!"Dad yelled walking away from us"So what did you guys talk about last night when you gathered up with that alcohol you found"I asked looking over at him"I thought you were alseep when we went into the other room"I shruged looking over at him

"Shane said we couldn't let our gard down again and I agree I almost lost you to Jenner"I looked over at him"you didn't lose me as long as we stay together we never will lose eachother"He smiled and leaned into me kissing me softly

"Come on love birds were leaving"Daryl shoted from his Brothers Motorcycle I rolled my eyes and pull away I stepped into the Rv and sat in the front Glenn sat next to me at the window as we drove down the road out of the city

A couple hours of driving

"I love road trips"I say looking out the window as he moved on from the city"I always loved them to"Glenn said grabing my hand his other hand holding a map"I miss them my wife and i could never take them"Dale said Glancing at me and Glenn"How come"I asked looking over at Dale"With her cancer she always felt exhausted"I frowned and looked down

"I'm sorry about that"He shruged and glanced at me"Its okay it's nit your fault achully you and Glenn reminded me of an old version of me and my wife it's refreshing"I looked over at Glenn with a smile that was the last word for awhile that was intell I started ro close my eyes

"you should get some sleep"Glenn said looking over towards me "I'll be okay"I say noding towards Glenn while Shane talks with Andrea something about her father"are you sure"Glenn asked looking down at his map and then over at me"Ill get some sleep latter Love"He sighed but he then sat up looking out the window

There was cars everywhere"Oh jeez"Dale said seeing what we were seeing"Aw no"Glenn said looking over at me then back at the cars as we pulled to a park Glenn looked down at the map Daryl had come back from the cars and pulled up to the window

I looked out the window at him"See a way through"Dale asked over the load sound if Daryls bike he motioned his head back with a nod before he drove around the Rv to turn around"Uh maybe we should just go back"Glenn said looking past me at Dale

"There's an interstate bypass"Glenn added I looked down at the map in his hands"We can't spare the fuel"Dale was right we were low enough as it is already going back would be a waist"well just have to find a way through here"I said leaning closer to the window to see better

We drove past a few cars slowly the doors opened on them as we followed Daryl"Jeez"Glenn muttered there were a few walkers in the cars I was nervous I wasn't sure why but I was getting a bad feeling I gripped Glenn's hand tighter his thumb rubbing my hand

There was even more cars blocking the cars"can we get through here"Glenn asked the Rv was to big that could be a problem in a situation like this the Rv then made a squeaking noise before smoke starts coming out of the front

"Rats"I said looking at Glenn then Dale as he pulled to a stop he stood up seconds latter and Shane reached for his gun"Go head Glenn I'll be out in a second"He looked back and nodded before he followed Dale out I pulled my pistol out and checked it it was full butbi wanted to make sure

I followed Glenn out of the Rv"A thousand times dead in the water"I heard Dale say as I stepped out seeing sand mom Carl Sophia and Carl making are way over to us"Problem Dale"Shane said as we stood in front of the Rv I held my pistol in my hands

"Just a small matter of being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no hope of-"I looked over at Daryl who was going through the back of a car"okay that was dumb"Dale admitted"if you can't find a radiator hose here-"

"There's a whole bunch of stuff we can find here"I nodded looking around at each car before o stuff my gun back into my holster"We can also collected the remaining gas from the cars"I said pointing towards them

"Maybe some water"Carol added wouldn't that be nice huh I held my tummy and Glenn looked over at me"Food"He added looking away from me"This is a graveyard"Everyone looked over at mom

I looked away from her and sighed"Shes right I don't know how I feel about this"I said my face scrunched up Glenn looked over at me"All right all right here we go"T said starting"Come on yall just look around gather what you can"

I bit my lip and looked over at Glenn slight fear I'm my face"Stay close Avs"Glenn said walking up to the tools and picking them up I walked up to a near by car I was still extremely close to Glenn as he helped Dale fix the Rv

I pulled open the glove box and I hit the jackpot for the ladies that Is tampons and pads I picked them up and stuffed them into my bag I looked back at Dale who walked away from Glenn Who was working on the Rv himself I smiled at him struggling he was just so adorable sometimes and he dosant even try

I picked up an amazing black shirt that would look amazing on me I sniffed it and it was clean so I stuffed it into my bag Glenn came up behind me"Me and Shane are gonna go look for a hoose stay close to Dale please"I turned around and nodded

"Okay be careful"I leaned into him and kissed him he smiled and pulled away"Ill be back"He said before walking up to Shane I turned back around but there was nothing left in the front I sighed and opened the back door I gasped when I saw a kife  it was an amazing knife too

I slid it in my knife holder dad walked up next to me before he looked back at Dale"Its all good"Dale said looking down at him
