Billie's POV

I still haven't got Alana off my mind. It's been so weird thinking about her so much. I don't know if I want her, but something about her captivates me so much and I can't figure out why.

Either way, I just want to see her. It's been 3 days since she's come back from New York, and we still haven't hung out.

I pick up my phone and go to her contact, pressing the call button. I wait for her to answer and she does. "Hello?" She says in a groggy voice, sounding honestly sick as fuck.

"Hey, are you okay?" I ask her. "No, I'm fucking sick as hell. I feel like shit." She answers with a laugh.

"Oh, I was gonna ask if you wanted to hang out, but I guess I should leave you to rest." I tell her, slightly frowning since I wanted to see her.

"No, it's okay. You could come over, I guess. I'd like the company. Me and Rocky have been laying in bed all day doing absolutely nothing." She tells me.

"Are you sure, Lana?" I furrow my eyebrows and she hums in response as a 'yes.' "It's okay, I just don't want you getting sick, too." She says.

"I'll be fine, don't worry." I assure her with a smile even though she can't see me. "Okay, you can use the spare key under the matt outside, I'm too lazy to get up and get the door." She laughs before coughing. Poor girl.

Nope, don't be like that, Billie. She's a friend.

A friend.

If you really have to keep reminding yourself that, you definitely don't think that.

Ugh, fuck you.

Yeah, that's probably what you wanna do to Ala-

"Billie? Are you there?" Alana snaps me out of my thoughts since I haven't answered her. "Oh, yeah, I'm here. Sorry, I spaced out." I laugh awkwardly.

"It's cool, did you hear me, though?" She asks. "Yeah, I did. I'll be over in a little bit." I tell her.

"Alright, bye." She mumbles and I say bye before hanging up.

I'm gonna get some stuff for her to make her feel better, like any good friend would do.

I get up off the couch and throw my hoodie on before grabbing my keys and phone. I say goodbye to Shark and walk out of the house. I get to my car and get in.

I go to Panera Bread since she mentioned one time that she likes their soup, so maybe that'll make her throat feel better because by the sound of her voice, it seems like it hurts.

I order the soup at the drive-thru before heading to CVS. I pick up some medicine for her and her favorite candy, Jolly Rancher's, and I start to drive to her apartment building.

I grab the bag which has her soup in it and the CVS bag and I head inside the building. I go in the elevator and go up to her floor. When I get to her door, I lift up the doormat in front of the door to see a key, just like she said.

Honestly, she shouldn't just have a key under there when she lives with hundreds of people who could just take it, but I can't say much. I literally have a spare key hidden in a plant outside my front door.

I pick up the key and as I'm unlocking the door, I hear Rocky barking and the sound of his paws get closer to the door. I open it to see him sitting there and I smile. Alana's dog, Rocky, likes me a lot for some reason. Alana said he doesn't usually like a lot of people, but then again, a lot of animals love me.

I put down the bags on the kitchen counter and I crouch down to Rocky's level to pet him. "Hi, buddy." I say to him as I scratch his head. He wags his tail and jumps up to lick my face. He knocks me over and jumps on me, making me laugh.

"Okay, okay, calm down, Rocky." I giggle as I stand up. "Let's go see your mama," I whisper to him. I walk to Alana's bedroom to see the door wide open which I assume is because of Rocky.

"Hey, Ala-" I start to speak but notice she's sound asleep in her bed. She's cuddling her pillow while laying her head on the other one and she's wrapped up in her blanket.

I know I've already said this before, but seriously, she's such a pretty sleeper.

Nope, friend, Billie, friend.

Girl, shut up.

No, you.

Okay wait, why am I arguing with my brain right now in my head?

I sit down on the side of her bed and just watch her as she sleeps. She looks so beautiful and so peaceful.
I notice as a smile slowly creeps onto her face and her eyes open. "Stop watching me sleep, weirdo." She sleepily says with a smug smile.

Her voice is hot as fuck when she's tired, I can't get over it. Okay, no. I need to shut up.

"I- I wasn't.." I quickly deny and she smirks. "Mhm." She nods sarcastically.

"You just.. looked peaceful." I laugh nervously and shrug. Her hazel eyes soften as she meets my gaze and she smiles at me. "It's fine, Bil. I'm messing with you." She rolls her eyes playfully.

I'd like to see her do that again but moaning my- Okay, shut the fuck up, Billie.

"Um, I brought you something to eat and some medicine." I tell her, redirecting the conversation. Her eyes light up and she smiles a bit wider. "You did?" She asks and I nod. "Thank you so much." She says to me. "It's not problem." I shrug.

The room goes silent and she just stares into my eyes for a minute, making me nervous. "What?" I laugh. "Nothing, you're just pretty." She smiles.

I feel my cheeks slightly heat up, but I try to ignore it. "Oh, um, thank you." I smile back at her. "Well, I'm gonna go grab your food." I tell her, getting up off the bed. "No, it's okay. I can come get it." She shakes her head and sits up.

"No, Alana. Stay here." I order her and she nods before laying back down.

I walk out to the kitchen and grab her food and the CVS bag. I bring it all back to her room and set it on her nightstand. "Okay, so I got you some soup and then there's medicine in there to hopefully help with decongestion or whatever." I tell her and shrug as I look at the box.

"Thank you, Billie. You seriously didn't have to do any of this." She smiles up at me.

"It's really no problem, Lani." I assure her.

There I go with the fucking nickname again. I need to stop and get her out of my head.

"Are you sure? Can I pay you back somehow?" She asks. An idea pops into my head and I quickly shake myself out of it because I can't keep doing this.

I can't keep feeling this way about her.

"Uh, no. It's okay, really." I nod.

"Okay, thanks, Bil." She tells me once again and I smile.

I don't know what to do anymore.
