North Dallas is a very nice place
High end everything, restaurants, clubs, all Texas big
Working in Dallas one fall in the 80's, we went to a club on Monday night
Watched the Cowboys win a brutal home game on TVSome time after the game, in walks Tony Dorsett and Too Tall Jones
Two of the biggest stars of the Dallas Cowboys in the 1980's
Dressed to the nines, and on their arms, two beautiful women dressed like movie stars
Everyone was ecstatic with hero worshipA note to non-football enthusiasts:
The number one religion in Texas is football
Most Texans would agreeI am from a much smaller state
I am amazed how many people gather down in Texas in one place
You don't see those huge crowds in most places
There were 6 to 8 hundred people there that night, but it didn't seem that crowdedThe two top floors were balconies surrounding a huge dance floor open to the roof
We were on the second floor watching all of thisThe bands half-hour break was over, they were ready to start again
This time with a featured performer
We had no idea who was about to appear
The least expected, Tiny Tim
You know, the Tiptoe Through The Tulips guy, a six foot tall, long-haired, ukulele playing, male supprano
Forty minutes of falsetto, oh my God, I can't believe itNow a night like this only happens once in a lifetime
OK, got to have a beer in North Dallas, got to see the best the city had to offer, got to see Tony Dorsett and Too Tall Jones in person
Also got to celebrate a Cowboy victory in a very cool club in North DallasBut the topper of the evening has to be actually witnessing Dorsett and Jones dancing with two beauties to the sounds of Tiny Tim
Two football warriors displaying their cool dance moves while Tiptoe Through The Tulips blasts away through the houseA sight to behold...
Think for just a moment...
This is Texas?
