Life Attacks

Worn, frayed, unlaid
Feel like a 3rd day razor blade
Wonders abound, but no wonders found
They must have been mislaid

Spent, bent, late on rent
Don't bother me with facts
I don't do well when life attacks

Don't know where time goes
The 8 to 5 clock's too slow
Don't feel it's the way to go
If this is all I've got to show
It's what happens in life attacks

It's worse because you can't attack back
Can't say bad luck's what I lack
No doubt about it when it's a life attack

Ain't no cure, pill, spell, or spray
Life attacks just happen anyway
No way to prevent or foresee that
It's  what happens when you have a life attack

The past and things you've said or done, you can't take back
I'd call that a life attack
