Seems we're all in on new
Wiping out old thingsWhat to do when faith in the electromagnetic world fails
Then the phone won't ring or work at all
All the things you can't do without
No more buttons to push or online feedings
And maybe no one is there underpaid to fix these things"Oh my! What were we thinking?"
Did we have an inkling of what, when the phones go out?Hey candlemaker, what's a blacksmith, what's a tinker, what's a cobbler
Their letters are all in cursive I can't read
What to do when you can't text or even call 911Sitting on the wrong side of the branch, ever so sawing hard
But the tree's not what's to fall
"Oh my! Why were we thinking so small?"We must be only just ordinary simple living to die organisms, after all
Just one of the petri dishes that probably isn't the one to end the experimentSo let's add less bravado, a smidgen more humility, a lot less all knowing and add honoring wiser thinking
That's just dream talking
Forced to live under disfunction
At least we are allowed to dreamA better place to be
And away from the stream of those fouling reality
Those reality foulers also need to find their better dream
If not, at least go to fricking sleep and stay there
The rest of us need your rest
That would be our dream could come trueAnd imagine dreaming in color and seeing no orange
