I sit alone on a hill, my favorite hill. My dark blonde hair sprayed out on the grass like a fan. The only light was shone from the full circular bright moon. I stare up at the twinkling stars, making up my own constellations throughout the sky. I stare back at the moon, my only friend. The man and the moon. I smile warmly, basically the only time I smile.
By the time I decide to head down the hill, it took an hour. I never want to leave. I stand slowly still staring at the beautiful full moon. I smile up at him.
"I wish I could stay longer." I whisper. A voice in my head spoke, only my imagination.
As do I princess. I smiled, I wish he was a real person. He always listened, always comforted me. His light, lit my night right up. I head down the hill towards my "home".
Living in a foster home was hell, I wish my grandfather was here.
Ever since my grandpa died, I was all alone, and for a 17 year old, life pretty much sucked. I was 15 when he died, it ruined my whole look on the world.
As I got to the building where I stayed, I ran quietly to the front door, obviously locked, I took a spare key with me everywhere. As I got inside, the lights were off, I sneakily walked towards my room.
Suddenly the lights turned on, a burning sensation filled my eyes.
"What the hell are you doing?" A woman's raspy old voice called out. I stop in my tracks and slowly turn towards her. Her large hands on her wide hips. Her dirty hair in curls, and her wide body in a tight nightgown. Her voice sounded as if she smoke 20 packs a day. Her pale skin matched the white tiled floors and her skin resembles crumpled paper. A scowl on her face was always seen.
"I was on a walk." I replied calmly. She glared and walked towards me.
"You insulate child! You disobey my orders." Confused I stare up at her tall wide figure.
"What orders? It's not like you pay any attention to me unless you think I did something wrong." I spoke out. She grips my arm, and glares holes into my flesh.
"Don't talk back to me, this is probably why your mother or father never wanted you." Her words dug into my flesh like dull knives. I kept myself from crying, I held a straight face. "Now go to your room before I throw you."
I walked quickly to my room, knowing other girls stared at our scene. They giggled and talked about me behind my back. I knew I was the outcast in the household, I just never had the time to care.
"Aw, did Miss. Baton hurt your feelings?" A girl acted sympathetic, I wanted to slap her, but I'd get more Miss. Baton spit in my face. I just turned my back to her and went in my room.
For about an hour I cried how Miss. Baton disrespected my parents. My dad had died in a car crash, a drunk driver hit him, killing him instantly. My mom, my brother and I lived with my grandpa until she realized she didn't want me or my brother in her life, so she left. My brother was taken away because my mom didn't think my grandpa was a good enough caregiver, my brother was but into the system for adoption. My grandpa fought hard just to keep me, it really broke my heart. But I never show emotion in front of others, I never show that they get to me.
The only thing I like about this place is I get my own room, because no one wanted to share a room with little ol' me. I stared out my window looking at the clear sky. I saw two stars that fascinated me, they reminded me of the stars in the story Peter Pan. I loved that story ever since I was little. Second star to the right, and straight on till morning.
It makes me want to go somewhere I would be wanted, because I don't belong here. And I fell asleep with that thought in my mind and a small smile on my face.Hey all!! Welcome to the first chapter!
