It's been about two months or so since you got back to the overworld with Maeve. She claimed she wanted a "cool" name like yours, so the two of you stayed up all night when she first got here to brainstorm.

Speaking of the small black haired ghoul, she was currently sat watching the tv in the band's practice room while she ate her bowl of mac n' cheese. Silently snapping a photo on your phone without her noticing, you stand up.

That broke her attention from the screen, a questioning look on her face. "I'm just stepping outside to make a phone call, Dumplin, I'll be right outside the door if you need me." Nodding in understanding, she watched you walk to the door before turning back to her show.

Sighing as you closed the old oak door and pulled out your phone. Clicking the top contact saved in your favorites, you held it up to your ear hoping he'd answer. Getting sent to the same voicemail that you'd hear whenever you would call. Pulling it back to click on the second contact below, knowing that they'd answer.

"Cara mia! How are you doing?" The man spoke within the first second that he accepted the call.

The shadow of a smile wiggled its way onto your face, your expression lightening slightly. "Oh you know, living the life here." A chuckle came from his end of the line. "I meant to call you a few days ago actually."

"Oh? Really now, you miss me that much?"

Letting out an amused huff in response. "Don't get too cocky now Cardi, I might just take your furry little friends for myself. They love me more anyways." Ending with a small smile, you await the answer from the singer on the other end.

Releasing a gasp at what you said, he retorted quickly. "They may love you more, but you wouldn't dare."

"You're right you're right. No, I was calling to check in on you and the ghouls. I wanna know how everyone's doing." Pinching your bottom lip between your teeth as you wait for him to respond.

"Everyone here is doing good, a little tired from the practice and shows but that's understandable. Phantom and Whisp are doing really well too, each only had a tiny slip up but nothing too big of notice."

Nodding your head although the man can't physically see you. "Good, that's good."

It was silent for a bit before you went to speak up once again. Though you got interrupted before you could. "Yup, I was just speaking to Mountain not too long ago and he said you were still swamped with paperwork. I'm sorry I'm not there to help you out with it."

Practically hearing the frown on the man's face while he spoke, you went to reassure him. "Oh no no Cardi, don't worry it's honestly not that much anyways. I'm okay with it really, gives me time to think ya know?" Only after assuring him you were okay did it sink in what he first said. "Wait, Mountain told you that?"

"Mhmm, said he talked to you earlier on the phone during practice. He said he didn't want to bother you anymore than he already has so he kept the call short." Noting your silence, he carried on speaking to try and fill it. "I asked him to keep me updated with the stuff you have going on, I'm sorry if you didn't want that. I just wanted to make sure you were okay since you're not here with us-"

"No Cardi, it's fine, really. I just wished you would have told me before is all. Could have told you all that myself-"

"Cara mia, let's be honest now. Would you have really told me the truth or would you have just said what wouldn't worry us?" Taking your grumble as his final answer, he spoke with a caring voice. "Exactly Nessa, we just want to know how you're feeling. Whether it's stressed, angry, upset, or happy. But knowing you, you'd only tell us you're okay. Though you can't exactly lie to your mate now can you?"

Huffing out a breath of air, you lean against the wall next to the door. "Okay okay, you're right. I just didn't want to worry you guys with stuff that won't help you during the tour."

Feeling the pride practically radiating off the man through the phone at getting you to answer honestly, you roll your eyes. "As much as I would love to talk with you for longer, Dew is currently chasing Phantom and Swiss with a knife over chicken nuggets." Faintly hearing screaming come from the other end. "You fuckers, get back here!"

"Mmm yeah, you should probably go deal with that. I'll catch you later?"

"Of course of course, talk to you later cara mia. I'll be sure to tell the others you said hi." Hearing the line click shut, you pocket the phone and are left confused. Really confused on a few things.

Confused on how the nugget situation started, confused as to why Mountain would tell Copia that you're swamped in work, and most importantly confused as to why Mountain would tell the others you spoke with him. The two of you haven't talked to one another in a little over a month due to him not answering your calls or texts.

Feeling over and done with being ignored, you come to the conclusion that you need to speak with Sister Imperator. Grabbing the door handle to pull it open, you're met with the wide eyed face of a little kid staring at you.
