Walking towards my gate, I start double checking that I have all my belongings with me. After counting my things, I start to pick up the pace a little bit. Can't be late for my first flight home in what, ten years now? Well not really, I went back once for my birthday the first year after I left. It's not that anything bad happened to make me stop returning, it's just that things became so busy that I had started to prioritize my work over taking visits back home. But that won't be happening anymore, I'm coming home for good now. Unless I decide I want to take a vacation with Pea in the Bahamas or something, that's if he actually agrees to come with me.
"Flight 4B, boarding now. Again flight 4B is now boarding"
The intercom person spoke, knocking me out of my thoughts. Thank goodness, probably would've been stuck in my head working on autopilot until I boarded. Get it? Autopilot? I recoil when I realize what I've just done, I made a Pea joke. I'm going to have enough of those when I arrive, won't be needing someone else to say them as well.
Finally getting to the ticket checking booth that is stood in front of the boarding tunnel, I realize that I'm the first one here.
"Right this way mam, we already have your table set up. The first attendee will be with you shortly to get you your drinks and new outfit." Was all I heard before I was shuffled through the boarding tunnel onto the plane. Which is when it had hit me, the rat lover had gone and booked me a private flight back home.
