As for weddings I believe we should stick with the white dress. One particular style of dress I notice is popular amongst African American women for years is the Mermaid dress. A lot of us even wear them for prom. So I think we should make it traditional. Also wearing white is traditional spiritually for African Americans. It signifies protection and purification which is ideal for a new Marriage. if the mermaid dress is not to your taste, any white dress will do
