Adhira

It's been two months, and nobody from my family has contacted me yet.

It isn't strange, considering that my mere existence was problematic for them, but at least I deserved a call from them.

But anyways, as they say, when God closes all the other doors, he opens a better one.

And that better one, is my bestie, my everything right now, my Ria.

If not for her, I might still be on streets, and I feel really guilty that I'm invading her privacy, but honestly I can't do anything right now.

"Good morning sweetheart. " Ria wished me, with two cups of coffee.

"Thank you, my love. And sorry once again. " I said taking the cup from her.

"Give that coffee back. " She demanded suddenly making me look at her with confusion.

"What happened? " I asked cluelessly.

"If you want to count favours, let me reduce your load a bit. " She said a little angrily, but it made me smile a bit.

"Seriously Yaar, Adhu, I'm getting angry and you're smiling! " She cribbed a bit and sat down next to me on the bed.

"You look cute when you're angry, how can I not smile looking at my angel. " I said pinching her nose with admiration to which she chuckled playfully.

"No doubt Rohan is so whipped for you. " I said playfully teasing her, only to get a light hit on my arm.

"But anyways, what's up between you two? Anything further or just the simple talks? " I asked.

"Nothing much, but... " She trailed off making me worry a bit.

"But what? Is everything alright? " I asked with a worried tone.

"Obviously yes! We're getting married! " She announced with excitement which instilled excitement in me too.

"What? Seriously? Congratulations! " I said in a excited voice, hugging her.

"But there is a problem. " She said, backing off from the hug.

"What is it? " I asked, concerned.

"Actually, since I'm getting married, I'm leaving this rented room, so you'll need to find a other room, because you're still finding job, and the owner is really mean. " She explained with a guilty tone.

"So? It's not a big problem, I'll find a other room for me. " I replied, making a her give a smile in response but deep down I was hell worried because I am still jobless and now I might be even homeless.

I know, if I ask her she'll pay the rent for the next few months, but I don't want to burden her more than I already do.

We both continued chatting about a few random topics when suddenly we realised how late it was and Ria quickly rushed to her work, while I went to search for work.

.
.

I guess it's hard luck for me, because even today, I didn't get anywhere. I have a degree in business management, and I'm ready to do anything that doesn't even require degree, but I guess that the typical waitress job is fictional too.

People in big cities prefer someone with experience for jobs in the companies, but if you'll not give me a job, how am I supposed to have experience?

I even went to see if they have a job for washing utensils, or even housekeeping, that would help me sustain in this world for a few months, but no.
I can do everything you know, that's what I was taught growing up, but I guess some skills are just useless.

I had full motivation while taking that huge step and now I feel like I've got nowhere to go, cause if I go back, I might as well consider myself dead and to stay here, I need a job.

A job, as soon as possible, because then only I can afford a good apartment for me.

I was randomly wondering on streets, when I saw a wanted poster. It was an add for an extra employee in a company, who would do random jobs.

Weird, but everything in the city is weird. I guess this is no big deal.

I called the given number, and the line was busy. I tried for another sometime, but it was still busy. I guess, they didn't wanted to offer job at first place, they just wanted to test the patience of whoever sees it. Idiots.

It's evening now and I should reach Ria's home as soon as possible, or she'll freak out and that would send me on a guilt trip again.

I can't take a taxi, because obviously, no money. Not like I'm completely broke, I have money, but I don't want to spend it on petty things.

And just for clarification, this is my own money, not given by my family. My money, which I got after selling my smart phone, that I had brought with the part time job salary that I earned, while studying in college.
And when I came to city, I was such a big fool that I didn't even carry money with me, and as I wanted to survive, so I sold my smart phone.

I got enough money, but then I realised, I can't really survive without a phone in this world, as I won't even be able to call or receive calls, so I had to purchase a new phone, which is only for calling, as it's a old school, keypad phone.

I was already outdated, and now when I don't even have a single presence of social media, you can imagine my condition. No doubt, I got rejected by a company, because I looked old fashioned, And by old fashioned, he meant that I was not wearing the typical formal skirts, but full length trousers.
I never knew that trousers are old fashioned.

I know, it was just an excuse to reject me, but it still felt bad.

You see, it's good to remember somethings while you're walking, because I've reached Ria's house, which means I seriously walked eight kilometers and still didn't feel like it, because I was busy thinking about how tragic my life is.

Never mind, I'm going to get really fit, walking for such long distances.
