Office is a really hectic place. And when you have an assistant who has suddenly decided to quit, it just gets worse.

My personal assistant, Ria, is going to get married soon and she feels that she won't be able to work after marriage, so she's resigning.

I mean I get it, that it's tough, but she should've atleast informed me two months prior.

It took me three years to get comfortable with her and now all of a sudden she's leaving.

The point is a personal assistant, is not limited to your office life. It plays a very important role in your personal life too.

I don't mean to sound weird, but obviously, she knows a lot of stuff about me and I've grown comfortable to it.

But with her leaving, I need a new assistant. And it's gonna be a tough job, because then I need to share a lot of stuff about me, so that he/she can manage things according to that.

But since I've got a lot of stuff that a assistant needs to know and I'm not really in mood to dig in my life, so i just called all of my employees and informed them that they all are free to apply for the post of it.

I was checking the applications that I've received, when somebody knocked on the cabin door.

"Come in. " I said and the person entered.

"Good evening Sir. " I looked up to see Ria, wish me.

"Good evening Ria, so tell me what brings you here? Do you wanna shorten the notice period more than it already is? " I questioned, keeping my focus on her.

"How did you know that? " She questioned, immediately.

"What? You actually want to do that? You do realize that this is the most unprofessional behavior ever. " I replied.

"Sir, atleast listen to me first. " She said, more like pleaded.

"Go on. " I said.

"Sir actually I'm retiring, not because of my marriage, but because of another reason. " She stated.

"Ok, so what is the reason? " I asked, calmly.

"Sir actually, I want to resign, so that you can give this job to my best friend. " She spoke out, shocking me.

"And why do you think I would do that? " I asked, looking at her sharply and with a hint of anger.

"Sir, please, she is all alone here and she has no where to go. She lives with me right now and she's unemployed. And with me getting married, she would basically be homeless. " She started telling me about the problems of her best friend.

"So? That is no good reason as to why should I hire her. And first of all, do you just mean to say that you could've actually worked for me, if not for your best friend suddenly coming in? " I questioned with amusement.

"I mean yeah. But please sir, she is great. More best than me. Please give her this job, I promise she won't let you down. " She said.

"Even if I agree to it, what experience does she have? " I questioned pinching my nose in frustration.
