"Ms. Mehta, why isn't your telephone working? " Ritvik sir said as he entered, which caught me so off guard that I choked on the one bite that i was eating.

I immediately started coughing which made the matter worse.
I thought I was done with the embarrassment for today.

"S... Sorry... Si.. Sir... " I said while coughing ,which was burning my throat and also causing some tears.

"Ms. Mehta, calm down. " He said and as much as I wanted to follow it, I couldn't.

"Drink some water. " He said, forwarding the glass on my table.

I hurriedly drank the water, and after a few minutes I was stable.

"Sorry sir. " I said after calming down completely.

"No worries. But why we're you having lunch at this hour? " He questioned.

"I actually lost the track of time. " I said.

"What happened? " I asked.

"I was trying to call you , but your telephone is not working. " He said and I was confused.

"What telephone? " I asked.

"Shukla showed you around, didn't he? " He asked.
To be honest, he didn't, he just showed me that this is my cabin.

"Yes, I guess, it just slipped my mind. " I said and immediately started looking around for the telephone.

"It's in the second drawer. " He said and i looked down embarrassed before picking it up and placing it on my table. I then connected the wires.

"I guess it's working now. " I said.

"Hmm." Was the only response I got before he left.

After completing my work for today, I left the office and took me a while to realise form where I can catch a bus. I'm glad that I'm on time.

Cause bus is definitely cheap than a taxi or something. And this feels better, I'll walk in the morning and go by bus in the evening. That way I'll save some money and I'll even get an exercise.

"Welcome home, Adhu. " Ria said as soon as I entered.

"Aww, thank you. " I said.

"Go and quickly freshen up, I've prepared a feast for you. " She said and I nodded before going in the room to have a quick bath and change.

After I was done, I went to the dining room and damn! It was actually a feast.

"Why did you do so much? " I asked.

"Cause I love you my baby girl. " She said but I felt that something is wrong.

"Ria... What happened? " I asked.

"Adhu, I'm really sorry, but... " She suddenly stopped.

"Ria, you can tell me the truth. You know I will never judge you. " I assured her.

"Actually Adhu... I'm getting married the next month. " She said and I was shocked for a second.

"Then why are you so sad about it, you should be happy. " I said, clearly confused about her expressions.
