It's been two days since I came back to work.
So far, Ritvik sir has made sure he doesn't bring back the marriage issue but it's still bothering me.

On Ria's wedding, I don't know how she spotted me in the huge crowd, but she did and hugged me like a baby.
She even cried a little, but she said that she was happy having me.

She also told me that Sir had arrived at the wedding way before but Ria knowing it very well that I won't come, had asked Sir to bring me there.
The distance from my house to the venue was nearly an hour and a half.

He drove it all the way just because my best friend asked him to do so.

I even heard in the crowd that Ritvik Sir is getting married only for Arth, because apparently his wife is putting him in a custody battle, and to win it he needs a wife.

I know that I clearly declined to it, but if by any chance he doesn't get a wife, Arth will go back to his mother, and I won't get to see him.

Am I being selfish?
I guess so, but I can't let go the only reason I smile nowadays. Plus that kid already gives me a lot of motherly feeling towards him, so I've decided that I'll go and agree to the wedding.

I don't know what the consequences will be, but it's important for me and for Sir, who cares so much for everyone that he drove double the distance just so I could attend the wedding.

If he cares so much for employees, I can't imagine how much he would be caring for his own son.
His care deserves to be reciprocated.
I never had caring parents, I can't rob Arth of the feeling of a caring parent.

I know, I wouldn't do it directly, but if Sir loses the case just because I said No, then it would haunt me my whole life.

Taking a deep breath and encouraging myself, I went to Sir's cabin.
I knocked on the door and entered when asked to.

"Yes Adhira, what's the matter?" He asked calmly, keeping down his file.

"Why did you ask me to marry you?" I asked.

"Pardon?"

"Why did you ask specifically me for marriage? You could've gotten any girl to marry you." I repeated, this time elaborating.

"Please have a seat." He said and I obliged.

"Since it had become a subject of gossip for the whole office, you would've heard that I need to get married so I can get Arth's custody." He said and I shook my head.

"So, the  catch it I need to get married for about a year. I would've gotten anyone just to live with me till I win the case, but now the situation is different. I need to live with her for about an year, and I can't dump any step mother on my Arth." He said.

I was about to say something, but let me continue first.
"The only person I knew right now, who would be a great mother for him, are you." He said.

"Really? You think so?" I asked with surprise.

"Yeah, that's why I asked you. But why are you suddenly interested in this again?" He asked with confusion.

"Uhh... Well..." I hesitated for a second but spoke anyway, "Does the offer still stand?"

He looked at me with surprise before replying, "Yes. It does, why?"
