Ritvik

It's been two years since me and Adhira got married, again.
Life has been such a fun rollercoaster and to top it up, the birth of our baby girl just made us feel like we are in heaven, because what a beautiful angel she is.

I'm literally awke from past one hour, but I can't even move from my place.
Mainly because, Adhira is holding my left arm while Arth is holding my right arm.

And our angel, Aakriti is sleeping on me.
All three of them are looking so cute and innocent right now, but they were the complete opposite when Aakriti started crying at night.

Seeing her, even Arth started crying and seeing them both even Adhira started to cry.
And I spent my entire night consoling these three babies.

After a while Adhira finally woke up.
"Good Morning!" I wished her.

"Good morning!" She wished back as she got up from the bed and took Aakriti with her to make her sleep in the crib.

Then even Arth was awake and we all finally started our day.

Even though Aakriti is now nearly eleven months old, Aadhira wants to spend as much time as she gets with her. So she comes to the office every alternate day.

I actually told her to get a maternity rest, but she started missing work too, so this was something that worked out the best.

Quickly getting ready, we all had breakfast which was followed by me leaving with Arth to drop him to school first and then I'll go back to the office.

Since today is a saturday, the office hours are only for half day, so I can even pick him up while coming back.

We reached his school, and he got down from the car.
He is trying to go to the classroom alone from the past few days and I guess it's working.
I honestly don't like the way he is growing up so soon, but I'm also enjoying the process.

After work, I reached Arth's school. Surprisingly, he was not waiting outside the gate like he usually does. Thinking that the teacher would be in the class for a little extra time, I decided to wait in the car.

After nearly ten minutes when he didn't come outside, I got worried. I immediately went outside the car to search for him.
I asked the gatekeeper, but he didn't see Arth coming outside the school which just concludes that he is inside the school.

I went to his classroom, but he was not there, and by now I was really worried.
I went to the staffroom to ask his teacher and their I finally spotted him.

"Arth!" I called out and both him and his teacher looked at me.

"Thank god, you're here Mr. Malhotra." She said and before I could reply Arth ran towards me and hugged me.

"What happened dear, are you alright?" I asked, bending to his level, but he said nothing.

"What happened teacher?"

"I don't know, the peon was about to close the classroom door and he was still sitting inside, so he brought him to me." The teacher replied.

I looked at Arth was silent as ever. I just gave a small nod to his teacher before going out.

As we both settled in the car, I finally asked him, "What happened Arth?"

"Will you leave me?" He asked which confused me.

"Why are you asking this? Who told you that?"

"My friend's mumma is also not his real mumma, he just got a brother like I got Aakriti, and now his mumma and papa are sending him far away." He replied innocently.

"What? Really?" I asked to reconfirm if whatever I heard was correct.

"Yes Dad, he is going to go to that strict school where teachers will beat him if does anything wrong." He said, his eyes watering for his friend.

"Arth, we would never ever do that. You know your mumma loves you the most, then why are you thinking like this?" I said and he just shook his head.

"I'm sorry Papa." He said, giving me a smile.

"Don't worry about it. Come on let us have ice cream." I said and his face gleamed with happiness.

We then purchased ice cream for us and went home. He was finally back to normal.
I never realised that he would feel insecure, and it would kill Adhira if she gets to know about this.
She loves him the most and it would hurt her a lot.

"Your Mumma loves you the most, you know that right?" I asked.

"Yes." He replied nodding his head.

"Then please never tell your mom what you thought today." I said and he shook his head in agreement.

We then reached our home and he immediately got down the car.
He literally rushed inside the house where Adhira was waiting for him, with Aakriti in her arms.

"Oh, you're back!" She said hugging him, her one arm wrapped around Arth and the other was holding Aakriti.

"You have no idea how much your sister missed you!" She said to him as she kneeled down to his level and forwarded Aakriti to him.

Even if he's really young, the way he handles his sister is the best. He managed to balance her rightly in his arms in the first try itself which was pretty surprising.

He quietly dogded her until he stopped as we heard Aakriti whisper, "A... l... th."

It was very quiet whisper but we all heard it, and immediately looked at each other.

"Ritvik, she--- she said something..." Adhira said, looking at me and then at Aakriti and then at Arth.

"She said my name Maa." Arth replied with huge smile on his face.

"Yes... Yes she did, did you see Ritvik? My baby talked." Adhira said, excitedly clapping to herself.

"Kri, please one more time. Say Arth please..." Arth said, looking at her with hopeful eyes.

She smiled, like she understood everything,
"Al...th." She said again, and damn, she actually understood everything.

It was the most exciting and happy moment of our life.
I was watching them when Adhira tapped my shoulder.

"Where are you lost?" She asked me.

"He'll be the best brother." I said, looking at Arth who was joyfully talking to Aakriti in a baby voice.

"That's for sure, but he's going to also be the best father." She said and I looked at with amusement.

"Why you think so?"

"Uh... He learnt from the best." She said as she placed her head against my arm, as we both looked at our lives in front of us.
