Ritvik
So today, I'm finally interviewing all the potential personal assistants.
I mean, Ria did tell me that is should give this job to her friend, and she told me about how actually pitiful her condition is.
But I'm not just gonna base my judgement on that. What if I have a more talented person, or a person who requires this job more than she does.
Getting ready, I quickly went to office, not before pecking a sleeping Arth's forehead and asking mom to take care of her.
I mean, she is an excellent woman. And she takes care of him like her real grandsom, but sometimes she just gets too much into my past and vents up on him and I feel really bad about it.
But I've got no other option. Earlier I used to take him to the office occasionally as Ria used to take care of him a long with her work and they both were really fond of each other.
But I don't have that option right now, so I need to work with what I have.
.
.
.As soon as I reached the office, I was met with a lot of crowd.
Damn! Today's gonna be hectic.
I'm really not sure though about who her friend is, as I didn't ask her name.
But since they are best friends, I guess I'll be able to identify her.The interview started, and one by one everyone came.
I was pretty impressed by most of them, since everyone was pretty serious about the job, but still I couldn't find the particular person.I mean, I know that I've to be honest about thi, but I don't really prefer giving job to a person who's family income is in crores, because they would get anywhere they want.
I was pretty tired and so I called my staff to cancel the interviews for today and do the remaining tomorrow.
But she informed me that only one person is left, so I allowed one last interview for today.
The person knocked the door, and came in when I replied.
"Good evening sir. " She greeted me as she stood behind the chair, in front of me.
"You may sit. " I said and she nodded her head a little, before sitting.
Her posture isn't the best for what a personal assistant of the CEO of a leading company should have, but I guess, it can be taken care of later.
"So, ms.? " I started,
"Adhira. Adhira Mehta. " She replied.
"So Ms. Mehta, would you mind giving me your file? " I questioned.
"No sir, not at all. " She said and quickly handed it to me.
I scanned through her files, and she had pretty good grades, straight A's, but there was a problem. She has zero experience, and her degree isn't from a college that I've ever heard off. So I just can't guarantee it's legitimacy.
"Ms. Mehta, your records and qualifications are really good, but you don't have any experience. " I stated.
"But that's the problem sir, if you won't give me a job, how would I gain an experience? " She reasoned.
"Sir if you want, you can hire me temporarily for a month and then you can see whether I can be permanent. " She said.
"That's a really nice offer, Ms. Mehta, I would take that in consideration while analyzing, you many leave now. If you're selected, you'll get a call. " I informed and she got up, but stopped forba moment.
"Sir! " She called out and handed me a envelope.
"What's this? " I questioned.
"I don't know, Ria told me to give you. " She said and that's when I realized.
"Ria? You mean Ria Singh? My previous personal assistant. " I asked.
"Yes Sir. " She said nodding her head.
"Ok, I'll see it. " I said and she went.
I opened the envelope, to see that it had a letter in it.
I opened the letter and it read,
Sir,
She is the friend I was talking about. I know you wouldn't have guessed, since we are really different, but trust me, she's the best. She'll definitely be a great assistant to you and I can assure you, she needs this job more than anyone else.I closed the letter and rested my head for a moment.
Even though, I've literally gotten more better applications than Ms. Mehta, there's something in her that makes me want to select her.And it's not because she's really beautiful, but her eyes. They spoke something that her words didn't. They just told how desperately she needs this job.
And as she said, I can replace her after a month, if she is not capable.
So maybe, I can try for a month..
.
.After a lot of thinking and headache , I'm finally back home. I entered and was met with silence, which is very unlikely, cause I literally have a four year old who gets excited with the sound of my car.
"Mom! Arth! " I called out both of them but nobody answered back.
"Maria, where are they both? " I asked the head maid, more like the caretaker of the entire house.
"Sir, they both went to mam's room, I haven't seen them since. " She replied.
"Ok." I said and went towards mom's room. I opened the door and was met with what I would call the best moment of my life.
Mom and Arth were sleeping, next to each other.
I'm so happy to see mom finally accepting him.I still remember, when Arth came home, mom was so stubborn on not accepting him and she literally left the craddle with him, outside the house.
The argument we had that day was the biggest one we ever had. It feels good to see the progress.
"Oh, Ritvik, you're home. " Mom said as she woke up.
I signalled her to a sleeping Arth and we silently went outside.
"Mom, why were you sleeping at this hour? " I asked since it's very unlike her to sleep in the evening.
"Actually someone teased Arth because he doesn't have a... You know, Mother. So he was crying a lot, and I was consoling him and then we both slept. " Mom said and it suddenly made me feel guilty.
My mind went back to a particular someone. Only if she would've been a little better, everything would've been nice. And better.
