Alex POV - three days later

I observe Sawyer as she struggles to keep her eyes open while watching a movie with Noah.

I walk over and sit next to her, "Take a nap, baby."

She yawns, "I'm 'Kay."

I stare at her and decide to not get into a power struggle, but instead, I wrap my arm around her and grab her weighted blanket, tossing it over both of us.

I hear her sigh and she pulls Noah closer.

I feel her head lean and finally rest on my shoulder.

I look down and see her eyes closed. I then lean further and see Noah with his head snuggled into Sawyer, also asleep.

I stay there for a few more minutes, then stand up slowly and stare at them.

"My work here is done." I whisper and walk out of the room.

The front door opens and I watch Charlie sprint in then pout.

She turns to the kitchen, "Noah and Sawyer are sleeping!"

I nod, "Let them sleep, baby. They both need it."

She nods, "Sawyer having bad dreams again, momma."

My eyes widen, "Is that so?"

She pouts, "Yeah. She came and slept with me, but was gone when I woke up this morning."

I nod, "Okay."

Kate walks in, "Hey. She did great at gymnastics."

I smile, "Cool, thanks for taking her. Serv took Quinn to a drawing class."

She smiles, "Nice. Alright, I'll see you tomorrow and tell Sawyer congrats."

My eyes widen, "Congrats on what?"

"The World Cup roster. It must be true, right? With all of the speculation?"

I sigh, "Nothing has been confirmed yet. We will see."

She smiles, "She'd crush it."

I nod and watch as she walks out.

'She will also be so stressed.'

Flashback - U17 World Cup 2024

I walk outside and smile.

'I love this.'

"Someone was looking for momma!"

I turn and see Serv holding Noah.

"Hi buddy! You slept like a champ!" I say and grab him.

"Where's Charlie?" I ask.

"With your dad, getting some breakfast." He says.

I nod and look at Noah, "You hungry?"

He gurgles and I laugh.

I sit down and start feeding him.

"Have you heard from Sawyer?" Serv asks.

I shake my head, "Not yet. I'm going to call her because did you see her hands at dinner?"

He sighs, "She's chewing on them."

I nod, "Because she's anxious."

"She puts so much pressure on herself, I just want her to enjoy this moment. We're proud of her no matter what happens on the pitch."

"She does, but the media isn't helping. She wants to live up to all of the expectations."

He sighs, "Makes sense. Here, is he done? I'll take him."
