Sawyer POV - November 2029
"Now that the season is over, can we really start to wedding plan?" Makena rolls onto my chest and asks me.
I nod, "Yeah, just, I'm not good at planning, you know?"
She rubs my cheek, "I know, but I'll give you choices and if it gets too overwhelming, you can tell me and we will take a break."
I nod and smile, "Okay."
She leans in and presses a kiss to my lips and I go to deepen it when my phone rings.
I reach and answer it on speaker without looking, "Hello?"
"Let's go surf, Sawyer."
'Auntie Jeri.'
I pout at Makena who shakes her head.
She grabs my phone, "She will meet you, Jeri."
"Thanks, Makena! See you soon, my niece!"
She hangs up and I sigh.
Makena smiles and pats my chest, "Go surf. That'll help you get ready to plan."
I whine, "Okay. I have therapy today too."
She smiles, "I know. I was waiting for you to remember."
I nod and press a kiss to her lips and get out of bed, stretching.
Maverick pops up and looks at me, "Hey boy, you hungry?"
He wags his tail.
"Think that's a yes. Let's go." I say.
I walk downstairs and open the door, letting him out.
I grab his bowl, filling it with kibble and setting it back down.
I let him back in and yawn, walking over to the counter and grabbing my med box.
I pop the pills into my mouth and swallow.
I stretch and put some slides on, walking into the garage.
I grab my board and a wetsuit, tossing them in my car and hopping in, heading towards the beach.
I pull up and see auntie Jeri waiting for me.
I grab my things and head towards her.
"Hi auntie Jeri." I say.
She turns and wraps her arm around me, "Hey, kid. Look, the waves are perfect."
I look out and nod, "Totally."
She stares at me, "Okay, let's go."
I throw on my wet suit and then follow her into the water.
I dive under a wave and reach her, sitting on my board.
"So, what's up?" I ask.
She shrugs, "Wanted to see my favorite niece, is that a crime?"
I stare at her, "Oh my god, you're on a double M."
She looks at me confused.
