June 2029 - BREAKING NEWS: ANGEL CITY FC FORWARD SAWYER CARRASCO TRADED TO SAN DIEGO WAVE FC

Alex POV - July 2029

"Okay, this a four bedroom, five bath house. Beautiful views as you can-"

"WHOA LOOK AT THIS POOL!" Sawyer yells and jogs across the living room.

"Oh my god." Makena says under her breath.

She turns, "Babe, I know you act like a five year old sometimes, but I need adult version of you right now."

Sawyer pouts, "Aw! But the-"

Makena narrows her eyes at her and Sawyer's shoulders slump, "Okay, fine."

Makena smiles and looks back at the realtor who chuckles and continues.

We finish walking through the house and Sawyer throws herself onto the couch, pulling her phone out.

"Well baby, did you like it?" I ask.

She looks up, "I like the pool."

I smile, "Okay, but this is a big purchase. What else do you like?"

She shrugs, "It's big. Lots of space. I can put my swing up somewhere."

"I'll let you know, thank you." Makena says and walks in.

"Alright, babe, what are you thinking?" She asks.

She shrugs, "It's nice, I love the pool. Do you like it?"

Makena nods, "It's close to the training facility for you and it's close to my school."

"Great. Let's buy it." Sawyer says and goes back to her phone.

I roll my eyes, "Sawyer, phone down."

She looks up and sighs.

"Baby, you can't just say, let's buy it. There's a process. Firstly, this is kind of the top of your budget."

"But it's in it, right?"

I nod, "Yes, but barely, it'll spread you guys thin. I think you have to put a little lower offer, see if they'll counter you."

She groans and throws her head back, "I just want a house."

"I get that, but it takes time, it's a process." I say.

"I hate processes. Just want it now." She whines.

"My little Veruca Salt. Can't wait for shit." Makena says and kisses her cheek.

She looks at me, "We will put in a lower offer and go from there."

I nod and Makena goes to talk to the realtor.

"Momma?"

"Yes, baby."

"I can still come stay at home sometimes, right?" She asks.

I sigh and sit down next to her, "Yes, baby. Anytime. We are like 10 minutes away."

She nods.

"But baby, you're an adult, you are engaged, you don't need to stay at home anymore."

She shrugs, "Just like knowing that I can. I mean, we both know that I'm going to do something to make Makena mad at me again."

I rub her forehead, "Not necessarily true, Sawyer."

She shrugs and I decide to leave it alone.

"How's training going?" I ask.

She shrugs, "It's good I think. Still learning my teammates, that's hard for me."
