Episode 24: Ami's Week pt.2

They all sat in the conference room. Everyone had their coffee. 
Ami sat near Darien. Everyone in the room looked at her trying to get answers from her. 
This made Ami uneasy. But something in her just never wants Damian to know how she felt about him.
Even though Peter Parker tried to convince her that Damian does care about her the more time she spent with him and she does appreciate things that he's done for her, but she found that she doesn't want to be with him most of the time.
He'll never be a dad to her, right?
He's scary, he really doesn't talk with her often. He did call her a daughter that time but if she doesn't even want to talk with him all that much then what is that?
"Ami, are you really going to be this stubborn? This is not the Ami we know. And we want to know why and we want to know now."(Amara demands)
Ami eyes start to water. 
"The Ami we know would succumb to our wishes and help us out here."(Tristan says desperately)
"Okay guys, relax. Let's not push her that much."(Darien)
"Darien. This was your idea."(Serena)
"Yea, I know. But look at her."(Darien)
Ami was trying to hold in her emotions.
"Do you guys promise that you'll not tell Damian?"(Serena)
"Why?"(Michelle)
Ami glared at her. 
"Ami, why don't you want Damian to know?"(Amara)
"Because it's personal to him and that's that."(Ami)
"You don't like him?"(Tristan)
"I never said that."(Ami)
"Yea, no duh. You haven't said anything."(Michelle)
"But why do you guys want to know so bad? It's not like it'll help at all. And it'll make it worse because I don't want Damian to know."(Ami)
"If you don't tell us, we'll 100 percent tell Damian that you have something to hide."(Amara)
Ami looks at Amara with disgust. 
"You know what? I don't mind. Say whatever you want. I knew that was your real character anyway. No one's getting the answer."(Ami)
"Ami, she's just saying that because she wants to know. We want to know because if it's something we are doing wrong, we want to fix it for you."(Serena)
"Nothing you guys did lead me to believe that."(Ami)
"That's what we are asking Ami. We're asking about what we are doing wrong. We were supposed to have fun today but you are stretching this out longer than it has to be."(Darien)
"You guys kept asking me about why I was sad today. You guys are stretching it out."(Ami)
"Just tell us what we are doing wrong."(Serena)
"You guys don't respect me. And of course. I don't deserve respect. But if you guys don't respect me, I know that you won't respect things that I want to keep to myself. Clearly you guys are trying to pry me and my thoughts. If I want to say something I'll tell my scouts because they wouldn't just go up to Damian and tell him."(Ami's eyes start to water)
"I don't want to respect your personal space, Ami. You know why? Because you're personal space is filled with darkness, loneliness and you're obviously overwhelmed. It would be different if you're personal space was normal. But I want to disrupt it. Why? Because that's called supervising you and making sure that you're okay."(Tristan says calmly)
"That's right."(Everyone agrees)
"If it's about Damian, we'll tell him to fix it. He wants you to be happy."(Serena)
Ami starts to break down. They were right about her personal space.
"What is going on? I'm going to ask you this last time."(Michelle) 
"I miss home...When Damian told me that he was my dad, it was so hard to accept that."(Ami says slowly)
"You thought of your family back on earth?"(Darien put his finger on her shoulder)
"I felt so violated. It was hard for me to accept that everyone on Maho no Kuni apparently cares about me. Even though they shrunk me, kidnapped me, and order me to do things...Now he's my dad?! Why am I forced to accept him as a dad? He doesn't even talk to me. I never want to be with him alone because he's intimidating and I don't like starting conversations with him. My dad at home, despite not living with me he still loved me. He sent me paintings and always kept in touch with me..."(Ami)
"Ami breathe. Just take it slow. You don't have to think of him as a dad right now. We are referring him as your dad because we want you to get more comfortable with him."(Darien wipes Ami's tears)
Ami breathes and tries to relax.
"That's right. We know that you thought of him as someone that kept you from escaping and seems obligated to look after you. Now we want you to look at him as someone that protects you, cares about you, and listens to what you want to say."(Tristan)
"When we had a meeting he told us that he wants you to go to him and talk to him whenever you are facing hardships. All the dads were devastated at the fact that you guys weren't getting close to them."(Michelle)
"I miss my family back at home too, Ami. But now you have someone that has powers and can be with you whenever you need him to. He's not the same as your dad back at home. I won't be the one to tell you one's better than the other. Your heart doesn't have to abandon your dad back home. But let Damian into your heart. You're everything to him. He loves you so much and he would do anything for you."(Serena)
"That's right, he tried his best to be more friendly which is not really his personality to us. He's more cold towards us. But towards you, he tries to let you know that you matter to him."(Amara)
Ami calmed down at this point. 
She still doesn't know if she can accept Damian but she wants to be more open towards him.
