Chapter THREE

I walked into my house at 08:59, narrowly escaping being grounded. I let out a sigh of relief as I remove my jacket. I walk further into my house and look around for my parents. I find them in the living room playing chess.

" Welcome home Madeleine " My father says as he moves a chess piece.

" Did you have a good day sweetheart? " My mother asked and turned her attention towards me.

" Yeah I did. " I said and smiled politely.

" Wash up a bit, dinner is served soon! " My father said without looking at me. I nodded and walked upstairs to my room.

After I had closed my door I jumped into my bed and snuggled into my pillows. I laid there for awhile before kicking off my heels. I then stood up and took of my tights. I put on my pyjamas and took off my makeup before venturing down into the dining room.

I sat down at the very end of the table, waiting for the rest of my family to come join me for dinner. Soon my parents walked in and a few minutes after my paternal grandparents also joined in.

We ate in silence as usual, nothing was ever said unless something happened. When I was done I asked for permission to leave and after I had gotten a yes from everyone at the table I walked forwards the bathroom to brush my teeth. After I was done with that I went back into my room and closed the door as well as locking it this time.

I opened my bag and took out the books that me and Emmett was supposed to help us with the presentation. I sighed and looked through it, I was so ashamed with how little I knew and understood. I picked up my laptop and began researching.

I spent a few hours researching before deciding it was time to go to bed. I laid down under the covers and went to sleep with Emmett in my thoughts.

- Next Day -

I woke up early this morning for a a change. I put on some jeans and a shirt and my heels as usual. I then put on some makeup and fixed my hair before gathering my things and unlocking my door. I walked downstairs into the kitchen and drank a bottle of water before going outside to drive to school.

I parked my car and walked inside the school, actually not feeling like I hated it. I walked to my locker and left my stuff. Someone pushed my shoulder so I almost hit my head. I turned around and saw some of the people from my friend group.

" Hi guys " I said.

The girl who I think had pushed me looked really angry at me.

" What are you doing? " She asked me.

" Just putting my stuff in my locker " I said with confusion.

" No not that " She groaned and stepped closer to me almost pushing me up against the lockers.

" You didn't think we wouldn't find out? " She said in a low voice.

" What? " I asked again even more confused.

" Stop acting stupid " She almost yelled in my face.

" Last night, Maria saw you at the diner with that Cullen freak " She continued while looking at me.

" Eh yeah " I said not really knowing what to say.

" Why would you hang out with someone like that? " Some other girl said.

" We have a project together " I said.

" I don't care. You can't be seen with someone like that. You're gonna ruin our reputation, especially yours " The girl said and spit flies from her mouth.

" If I even hear about you going near him again there will be serious consequences " She said and they walked away. I wiped my face with disgust and looked around to see if anyone had seen anything.

Lucky me, nobody was there. I closed my locker and walked towards my first class.
