Chapter THIRTY

1 week later

One week of this torture I had endured and I don't know how much more I could take. And what made it even worse was that I could barely see Emmett. I missed him like crazy but we couldn't be seen in public together right now.

My mother dropped me off at ballet practice as usual and she drove away quickly. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a familiar car, I turned fully and saw that it was Emmetts car. He jumped out of the car and I walked fast over to him.

" Emmett " I couldn't hide my happiness from seeing him.

" Come with me " He said when I got close to him.

" Come with you? Are you crazy? I can't do that " I said.

" My family is playing baseball today, they all want you to come " He continued.

" I can't, you know that! And why would you play baseball in this weather? It's like so close to thunder happening " I asked worriedly.

" I want you to come " He said and grabbed my face carefully. He smiled and in that second he had won me over. How was I going to work this out?

" I need to be back in 3 hours " I said seriously.

" Of course " He said gleefully and walked me to the side of his car and opening the door. I sat down and he closed the door. In just a few seconds later we were on the road towards the place where they were going to play baseball.

" Is Bella going to be there? " I asked.

" Yes " He said and grabbed my hand.

" Hey, both hands on the steering wheel " I said.

" It's okay " He said and he made no move to pull his hand away. I sighed and settled down into the seat, we pulled into the forest and he drove for a little while longer but then stopped behind Edward's car.

He got out and so did I, I was confused as to why we were stopping as this place didn't seem to be a good place to play baseball.

" Here " He said and helped me change from my heels into a pair of sneakers.

" who's sneakers are these? " I asked.

" yours " He said.

" No I've never seen them before " I said.

" I bought them for you " He said and threw my heels inside the car and gave me a better jacket.

" We have to be on foot for the last few kilometres before we reach our destination " He said.

" Jump up on my back " he said and turned around.

" I'm capable of walking you know " I said and jumped on his back.

" I know, but this way is quicker since you have to be back in 2 and a half hours " He said and started running.

Everything passed us super quickly and I could barely make out anything. It felt incredible the way he was moving and how quickly it was. Soon he stopped in a clearing and I saw everyone here. I jumped down from his back. Bella ran over to me and wrapped me in a hug. I hugged back.

" I've missed you Madeleine " She said into my chest. I was a couple of inches taller than her so she only got up to my chest.

" Ive missed you to Bella " I answered back. We pulled apart and she smiled and walked back over to Edward. I walked over to Esme and was once again greeted by her motherly love. She placed her hands on my cheeks and caressed them.

" My dear Madeleine, are you okay? " She asked with sorrow and I nodded and smiled brightly at her.

" I'm okay now " I answered and she nodded not pushing further.

" You and Bella are going to be our umpires, we need two. Because some of these guys like to cheat " She said and laughed.

" We do not " Emmett said clearly offended. And looked at me with a look that said " she's wrong, I don't cheat. Don't believe her " .

Esme laughed and me and Bella joined in quickly. This is going to be fun. Esme grabbed both my and Bella's arms and pulled us over too the spot we were supposed to survey the game from. She explained some rules before the game started.
