Chapter SIXTEEN

I walked into school with a mission. I needed to find Emmett and apologise to him. I looked everywhere for him and couldn't find him. He wasn't at school, I picked up my phone and pressed the call button. Signals ran through my phone and I hoped he would pick up. The signals rang and rang but no answer. I clicked of the call and wrote a quick message asking him to please call me back.

" Madeleine " I heard Lauren call for me. She gripped my arm a few seconds later and dragged me out of the school.

" We are going dress shopping " She said and continued to drag me towards her car.

" Right now? " I asked.

" Yes right now! " She answered and I jumped into her car.

She played her favourite songs all the way to the city and it made me wanna pick out my eyeballs.

" This is going to be so exiting! " She said and clapped her hands.

" Please keep your hands on the wheel Lauren " I said and she snorted back at me.

Soon we were in the city and she dragged me store to store to store.

" What about this one? I look good in pink! " Lauren said and twirled in yet another dress.

" Yeah it looks good" I said as I looked at my phone, hoping Emmett would contact me.

" Madeline you're not even looking "

" you've tried on about one hundred dress "

" Yeah? I need to find the perfect dress! " She exclaimed.

Rapid knocking on the window stopped our conversation. Drunk guys stood outside staring at us and they yelled nasty stuff.

" Ew go away, you nasty people " I yelled back.

" Chill sexy " One of the boys said. I stood and threw my bag at the window and the guy jumped back in surprise.

" Go away before I actually hurt you " I said getting more and more angry by the second. The boys scrambled away quickly and Lauren let out a laugh.

" Go at them tiger " She said between laughs and soon I laughed as well. She went into the changing room and I sat down again. My phone buzzed and I picked it up quickly.

" Meet me at our usual place - Emmett "

" Okay - Madeleine "

" So I was thinking about going to one more store, I need to find some good heels as well " Lauren said coming out of the changing room.

" Yeah you can do that " I said and gathered my stuff.

" Aren't you coming? " She asked with confusion.

" No, I have to pick up something for my father " I lied but hopefully she wouldn't suspect anything.

" Okay sure, I will just have to show you everything later then! " She answered with a small smile. She walked towards the cashier to pay and I walked out of the store making my way towards the diner.

I saw Emmett's car parked outside and him leaning on his car clearly waiting for me. I quicker my pace and soon I stood beside him.

" Hi " I said and looked around to see what people were around.

" Hello Madeleine " He answered but didn't look at me. The way he said my name made me feel weird and fuzzy inside.

" Should we go inside? " I said.

" No we're going somewhere different, get in the car " He said and opened the door. I jumped in and soon we where on our way somewhere I didn't know.
