Chapter three

I smiled when I saw Bella. I jogged over to her and hugged her tightly.

" I've missed you " We both said in unison. We pulled away slightly from each other and smiled.

" I know you don't like this. But it's my duty as your sister, so. Happy birthday and I love you " I said in a quiet voice.

" You know me to well, and thank you. I love you too " She answered back in a small voice. She hugged me once again even tighter this time.

Bella was truly the person I was closest to after Emmett. She and I have a bond you can't break. She's like my sister. Even if we're not related at all.

" It's time " Alice said and she skipped into the room overly happy. She dragged Bella into the living room and the rest of us followed after them.

Emmett took a hold of my arm and I looked up at him.

" Let's get you some cake " He whispered gleefully.

" Only if it's chocolate " I said and laughed at him. He smiled and put his arm over my shoulders and brought me in closer as we watched Bella open her presents. She reached for one and Alice said that it was from me. Bella let out a small smile and opened it.

" A special edition Romeo and Juliet book? Madeleine, that's so expensive! " She gasped and looked at me.

" You deserve it. And besides you love that book! " I said with a small smile.

" Thank you! " She said. And Alice picked up another and Bella opened it.

" It's empty? " She said

" I already installed it in your truck! A brand new sound system. It really needed it! " Emmett said and let out a loud laugh.

" Hey don't hate on the truck! " Bella exclaimed. And once again Alice gave Bella another gift that she had to opened.

" Ouch, papercut " Bella said and looked up apologetically.

Everything went quiet and still. Emmett pushed me towards Rosalie and she wrapped her arms around me tightly. And Edward pushed Bella back towards the wall as Jasper ran forward seemingly wanting Bella's blood.

It all passed in a blur and soon Emmett and Carlisle grasped tightly at Jasper. Alice stood before Jasper trying to calm him down.

" Jasper! It's just a little blood " She said quietly.

" Get him out of here " Carlisle said and Emmett and Alice took Jasper out. Rosalie followed suit. Carlisle went over to Bella and helped her. I ran over to her when I saw that she was panicking.

" It's okay Bella " I said and tried to get her to look at me. I looked up at Edward in hope that he would help. But he just looked numb and soon he left the room. I scoffed silently and turned my attention back to Bella.

" I'll take her to my office so I can clean this up " Carlisle said and he used his vampire powers to get them both out of the room.

I stood up and went out to the closet and pulled out some cleaning supplies and started to clean up the mess. I threw away the glass and started to clean off the blood from the floor.

" Madeleine, sweetheart! You didn't have to clean this up! " Esme said as she walked into the room.

" It's okay! You guys have a lot to get through right now so I figured I could take one thing off your list! " I said and finished cleaning.

She smiled and walked towards me and caressed my cheek.

" You're an absolute angel, thank you! " She said and took the cleaning supplies from me.

" Let's go! Emmett is ready to drive you home. You need to get back before your parents notices that you're gone "

" Yeah, you're right! " I said and walked after her.

I went down to the garage and saw that there was a new car in here. In the spot Emmett said was mine.

" It was supposed to be a surprise for your birthday " I heard Emmett from behind me.

" You got me a car? " I said confused.

" Yes, I figured you would need one after your grandmother destroyed your car " He said and walked up beside me.

" She would destroy this one too if she found out it was mine "

" It's in my name, so she wouldn't be able to do anything "

" You're crazy " I said and looked up at him. I cupped his face.

" And I love you "
