Chapter FOUR

" Madeleine, wait " Emmett yelled from behind me but I just kept on walking. The words from the girls this morning was still ringing in my head. I unlocked my car and sat down in my chair and as I was about to close the door a hand stopped it.

" Madeleine, I'm talking too you! " He said. I didn't turn to look at him.

" Why are you ignoring me? " He asked. I still refused to look at him. His hand was placed on my chin and he turned my head to face him.

" Madeleine? "

" I can't be seen with you Emmett " I said now looking into his eyes.

" What? Why? " He asked confused.

" It will ruin them " I answered.

" Them? Who's them? " He asked.

" Just let it be Emmett, please! " I muttered.

" So you're just going to let me do all the work myself? " He said.

" Yeah unless you've got a better idea as to how we can do it without being seen together!? " I said irritated, why couldn't he just let it go.

" Lets meet in the city, in the evening, no one here will be there then " He answered back.

" Okay " I said defeated.

" Let's go now " He said and closed my door and walked to his car. He pulled out of the parking lot and drove towards the city. I quickly followed after him, grumbling all the way there.

After about one hour we pulled into a parking lot outside a non popular restaurant. We walked inside with our books and got seated at a table. The waiter came up to us and asked us what we wanted.

" I'll take a coke " I said thinking since nobody would see us here nobody would know I drank sugary drinks.

" A water " Emmett said and opened his books. I did the same while waiting for our drinks.

" I'll tell you more about this chapter today so that you will understand "

Our drinks came and he started to explain everything. When he was done he closed his books and removed them from the table.

" When is your birthday? " He asked after a long moment of silence.

" What? Why are you asking that? " I asked.

" Just small talk " He said.

" October 13th " I said after awhile and he nodded with a small smile.

" What about you? " I asked.

" That's a secret " He said and grinned.

" Seriously? " I said and laughed. He just nodded.

" Do you have a curfew today as well? " He asked.

" Yes, but I don't need to follow it today "

" Why? "

" Nobody's home, my family is away at an opera show " I answered while sipping on my coke.

" Good, then I don't have to hurry "

" What do you mean? "

" I wanna get to know you " He said and smiled sweetly.

" I already told you I can't be seen with you "

" Yes, but nobody will see us here. Please Madeleine " He said and reached out and grabbed my hand.

" Fine " I said with a sigh.

" You're abnormally cold, you know " I said and looked at his hand which was still grabbing mine.

" Sorry " He said and pulled his hand away quickly.

" What do you want to know? "
