Chapter SIX

" Madeleine? " said a voice I remembered. It was Lauren!

" Yes? " I answered and turned to face her.

" Do you wanna ditch? " She asked hopefully.

It was only one class left of the day and that was Biology. I found myself thinking about Emmett and that I could see him again today.

" I can't " I said and put on a fake smile.

" why? She asked while looking shocked.

" I can't get another warning Lauren " I said and started to get frustrated.

" Okay weirdo " She said and walked away swaying her nonexistent hips.

I walked down the corridor towards Biology class and opened the door. The teacher looked up at me with surprise and soon a small smile made its way up their face.

" im really glad to see you here Miss James " they said and they genuinely happy. I smile back politely and walked to me seat beside Emmett and sat down.

" Hello Madeleine " Emmett said while smiling down at me.

" Hi Emmett " I said in a whisper I tried my best to avoid eye contact with him. I couldn't give anyone any ideas, I needed to distance myself from him a lot around other people. I didn't need them to know he occupied my every thought or that I actually enjoyed spending time with him.

" I'll give you guys some materials to help with your projects today " The teacher said and started to walk down the aisle distributing papers.

I opened my notebook and flipped to the page I was currently writing on. I quickly read through it before looking at the paper that the teacher placed on our desk.

" So do you want too do it this evening? " Emmett asked and I could feel his eyes on me.

" Do what? " I asked lost in reading the paper.

" Continuing working on this project? " He continued to ask.

" I can't " I simply answered.

" Why not? " He prodded.

" I've got ballet class and I need to be home early " I said.

" I can come to your home? " He said quietly.

" No you can't, remember that I said I can't have boys over? " I answered quickly.

" They don't need to know? " He continued with a slight laugh.

" And how do you think that would work out? "

" I can come in through the window " He said matter of factly.

" I live on the second floor, so unless you wanna hurt yourself I wouldn't even try that " I answered.

" We gotta get a move on with this project, we have barley started " He said.

" We've got 4 weeks to finish this "

" I'm leaving on Wednesday " He said and fully turned to me.

" What? For how long? " I asked and turned to him as well.

" I'll be gone for 8 days " He said while looking into my eyes.

" Why? " I asked in a small voice.

" I have some things I need to do " He answered and I saw that he was getting a bit uncomfortable.

" Fine, you can come over. But you can't be seen by anyone " I said and stood up and gathered my things. The bell rang and I walked out, hurrying to my car. I was going to get into so much trouble if my family found out about this.
