Rosalie has had a few encounters over the years with the Wraith and yet it still surprised her how fast they were and how unprepared people were for their arrival.
She had arrived on that planet that morning, had found the village and had bought a few supplies. She decided to stay the night, the local tavern doubling as a hostel of sorts, but was now regretting that decision so very much.
They came in the night and Rosalie is awoken by the screams of the villagers. Grabbing her Staff weapon and her bag, she quickly makes her way to the streets and is pushed against the wall of the tavern when a man rushes past her.
Rosalie would recognize the sound of a Wraith Dart anywhere, having heard them more than once in the last few years. Looking up, she sees three darts turning back for a new sweep and she knows she can't stay there.
She starts to run, but when she sees that one of the darts is about to beam a mother and her small daughter, Rosalie doesn't hesitate. Aiming at the dart, she takes a shot and sees the dart changing directions, leaving the mother and daughter behind.
Screaming at them to move, Rosalie ends up following them, along side a few other villagers, to a cave not far from the village. She helps a few people that slip and fall, and at one point she even carries the little girl she just saved, as they all found their way to the cave. However, not everyone had been so lucky.
Rosalie will never get used to the screams. This wasn't her first run-in with the Wraith, not by a long-shot, but each time the screams of their victims would ring in her ears for days on end. She wishes she could do more to help them, but she is just one person and there is only so much she can do. Still, she hates the feeling of helplessness that fills her heart every time she hears another innocent person being taken by the Wraith.
Just as quick as it started, it ended. Rosalie makes her way out of the cave, and into the village, along with everyone else. As she walks around the village, she tries to help as much as she can, either by placing things in their rightful places, or by comforting a crying villager. It's not much, she knows, but it's what she can do at the moment.
However, that doesn't last long. As she approaches the center of the village, she can feel that something's not quite right. It doesn't take long before she hears a man shout that it's her fault that the Wraith were there and that they had come for her.
Rosalie tries to explain that the Wraith's presence there had nothing to do with her, and even the mother she saved earlier tries to defend her, but the villagers aren't willing to listen. They need to blame someone for the attack and it looks as if they have all agreed that she was the one to take that blame.
She watches as they start walking in her direction, some carrying wooden sticks while others carried other weapons, ready to strike her where she's standing. "Well, time to go.", she thinks, before taking off in a sprint towards the gate.
Rosalie gets to the gate and quickly dials out, hopefully to a more friendlier planet. Looking back, she sees the villagers coming into view. "That's it, from now on, I'm only traveling at night.", she thinks as she steps through the gate, shaking her head.
