Chapter 18: moving out

Harry POV:
I woke up next to Ginny as always in her bed, I yawned and stretched careful not to wake her and quietly apparated still shirtless and in my tartan pj bottoms. I apparated to Grimauld Place and looked about. Sirius and left it to me a couple years ago when he died but I hadn't been here properly since he was alive. I snapped my fingers and Kreacher appeared, "can you tidy the place up without getting rid of the stuff immediately please?" I asked, "yes master" he snarled bowing so low his nose scraped the floor, he muttered something and the place looked brand new. The walls were no longer mouldy, it was a fit p,ace to live all of a sudden, the bookcases picked themselves up, the furniture moved neatly to their original places. It looked like it had just come straight off the market, "and that reminds me, here you are" I said, picking up a nearby sock and tossing it at Kreacher. "What's this?" He growled unhappily, "clothes, you're free" I said, he blinked hard and for a second he said nothing, "free?" He growled, "yes free, do what you want go where ever I'm no longer in need for your service, thanks for working here" I said, "but this is the Black house I can't leave!" He exclaimed, "if you want I'll chop your head off and put it on a plaque next to your mothers" I said casually shrugging, "could you?" He asked his eyes narrowing a hint of excitement, "right now if you want" I said, "oh thank you thank you Sor!" He said in a foreign voice to him, one of happiness, I summoned a plaque and he knelt down, "goodbye... Master" he said, I looked away as I flicked my wand and waved his head to the plaque and it was done, his body disappeared and his head was framed. It was kind of gruesome but it had been his life long dream. I next pointed my wand at the elf heads and flicked them to the bin, I flicked his in the bin to, "I said you'd be next to your mother not where" I said clapping my hands. I tidied through the stuff and memories getting rid of stuff I didn't need sending things up the loft ect so at long last the house was to my standards it looked good. I apparated back to the burrow. Ginny was pacing in her room, as soon as she saw me she ran over to me and wrapped her arms around me in a tight hug. I was taken aback by this but when she let go she looked at me sternly, "where have you been?" She demanded, "out" I said, "where's out?" She said sternly her brows knitted together her hands on her hips, "it's a surprise" I said, "you had me worried sick when I woke up and you were gone!" She said angrily, I looked at her and then kissed her, her glare broke she tried to look strict but a sheepish smile tugged at her cheeks. She sighed and flung herself on the bed, "what's the big deal I was out for 2 hours!" I said, "the big deal is you're my husband and I love you!" She said, "I'm fine" I said, "good you better stay that way Mr Potter!" She said kissing me with a grin. "Time is it?" I asked laying across the bed lazily, "lunch time! Come on all my brothers have stayed for the night and they're waiting!" Gin said pulling my hand, I git up and allowed her to pull me down to the kitchen. Everyone was sitting down talking to each other but nobody ate. "Found him!" Gin said sitting down next to George, I sat next to her, "good gracious Harry where have you been?" Molly asked, "it's a surprise that I shall announce in a few moments" I said with a grin, everybody looked at me. I cleared my throat, I turned to my red haired maniac, "Gin, would you like to move in with me at my place?" I asked, "you have a place? what place?" She asked, "well that's where I've been this morning cleaning and clearing out Grimauld's Place" I said watching to see if her brothers were going to kill me but they seemed to stay calm. "Harry I would love to" she said with a grin, everyone applauded. I turned to Arthur, "Sir is that alright with you?" I asked politely, "not my choice anymore, you two are married" he said tucking into his food, I grinned stupidly. "We have an announcement too" Hermione said, everyone watched her, "Ron has bought a place next door to Grimmauld place, it was a total coincidence though" she said, "yes, it's an interesting story, I've been saving and converting my galleons for a while and I exchanged them for muggle money but then it turned out the other side of Grimauld Place is a whole wizard town and I bought a house next to Grimauld Place but I had no idea it was so close!" Ron said through a mouthful of heaven knows what. "My kids are growing up too fast" sniffed Molly, "we've only got Fred and George left!" Exclaimed Arthur in surprise, "and me" Percy said, "well we have you home sometimes, you often live in your office at work" Molly said, he shrugged. We all had a celebratory breakfast. "Me and Harry are going to go to our new house in a bit" Ginny said, "ok, be back for tea" mum called, me and Ginny apparated. We landed in the living room, "so we need to redecorate and buy new furniture but.... What do you think?" I asked, she had a great big grin on her face, "it's perfect" she said. "I've got a whole load of muggle money do you want to buy some new furniture?" I asked, "sure!" Ginny agreed we apparated to her room grabbed the money and apparated to outside IKEA. "Where are we?" Asked Ginny, "IKEA, a muggle furniture store" I said as we walked towards it. We decided to focus on the living room first since we could just move Gin's stuff from her room to ours. We bought a comfy leather sofa and matching pouffe an oak coffee table, a flat screen plasma HD 3D TV, a cool mirror, some cushions and some other bits. We also bought some paint and a new carpet. We apparated home after getting away from the general public. "What do you want to do first?" I asked, "paint!" She said, we had bought a pot of cool blue paint. "Ok, let's get started then" I laughed. I pulled out my keys to take the lid of and opened it up, I summoned 2 thick paintbrushes and handed one to Gin. She was sniffing the paint, "what on earth are you doing?" I laughed, "pant smells nice" she shrugged, "come on ya weirdo" I said, she smirked, "yeah but you love me" she said grinning, "you love me more" I said back, she shrugged, "true" she said, she dipped her paint brush in and started painting one wall, "you do the opposite wall, I got this one, Harry" she said, "m'kay" I said dipping my paintbrush in too and getting started. "How do you think Ron and Hermione are getting on?" She asked, "I dunno, what are they doing anyway?" I asked, "I think they said they were going to check out their new house" Gin said. Suddenly there was a knock, "hang on" I said putting my paint brush on the faded brown carpet, I didn't worry about ruining it we were getting new carpet anyway. I opened the back door to see Ron and Hermione beaming, "hello mate, mind if we come in?" Ron said, "come on in" I said grinning, "so what you and Gin doing?" Hermione asked, "we're just painting our living room, care to help?" I asked leading them through, "sure, sounds fun" Ron shrugged, he summoned 2 rollers and they dipped them in starting in the other 2 walls. "It's a bit quiet don't you think?" I said with a cheeky smirk, I summoned a radio player. Pop music started playing out, "this is more like it" Gin said dancing as she painted. We all had a bit of a laugh dancing to the beat as we painted the walls. In an hours time I had already painted the bottom half of the wall, I had already moved all the furniture in the middle earlier but I tugged the couch over to the wall I painted and stood up on ur so I could paint the higher walls. Ron didn't need it but Hermione grabbed a chair and stood on it, "you two be careful" Gin said standing on her tiptoes to paint a bit more. "Don't worry about me" I said. Suddenly a muggle song came on but I recognised this one and loved it.

I sung, everyone applauded but there were more than 3 people applauding, I turned around and in the door way stood Fred, George, Bill, Charlie and Percy. "Thought we could offer some help" Fred said grinning, I hopped down off the sofa, "yeah thanks, take that lot up to the yard please" I said pointing to the pile of furniture in the middle, "on it" Bill said still laughing a bit from my singing. "Oh Harry, you are special aren't you" laughed Ginny, I flicked some paint at her, it landed on her nose, she glared at me and flicked a bit back, it went on my glasses then before we knew it we were all covered in paint! Well the room is pretty much done so wait for the paint to dry" I said coming in after helping Charlie move the last sofa. "Nah forget that, step back everyone" said George pulling out his wand, "harpus dryus!" He cried waving his wand around the room. "Look see" said Fred touching all the walls, his hand remained clean, "nice one" said Percy. There was a knock on the door, "oh that'll be our furniture!" Gin said, we cast enchantments on this place so the muggle a can see it but will think it's just a normal muggle house. "We'll stay in here but will help you rearrange once its delivered" said Ron, "thanks guys" I said before running after Gin to get our furniture. There were two guys about 20 waiting there, "it's just in our van where do you want us to put it?" They asked with a warm smile, "umm just by the stairs for now please" Ginny said returning the smile, "you're on" they said walking back down the path to a van. They carried all our stuff through and we paid them, "thanks have a nice day!" they called shutting the door behind us. "Fred! George! Put this against the back wall please!" Ginny said pointing to the sofa, they picked it up, "Bill can you drill 2 holes there for the mirror to be fixed above the fireplace please" I said handing him the drill, he took it with a grin, "Charlie, please put the table in front of the sofa" Gin said motioning to where Fred and George were positioning the new sofa. "Yeah and Percy could you apparate to the burrow and tell your parents we'll back in like 20 minutes to start getting stuff from Gin's room?" I asked, he nodded and adjusted his glasses, "see you lot then" he said and disapparated. The room now looked a whole lot brighter without the gloomy colours, Hermione had cleaned out the fireplace full of uncleaned ash. Ron had dusted down the mantel and repainted it a modern white. "This looks great!" Gin said, we took the plastic cover off all the furniture and sat down for 2 minutes for a rest, there was a space for where we would put Gin's slightly old but comfy leather sofa too. Ron looked out the window all of a sudden, "carpet's here!" He said, "wait what are we going to do with all the furniture here now?" She asked, "don't worry, I know a spell" Charlie said whipping out his wand. I ran to the door and took he rolled up carpet off the guy, "thanks, here's the money and a tip" I said handing it to him, "thanks mate have a great day!" He said politely. I walked in and put the carpet against the wall, "disapearus carpet!" Charlie said aiming his wand at the floor, suddenly the carpet was rolled up next to the new one, we stood on the stone floor beneath the carpet, "applitus carpet!" Charlie said pointing his wand at the new red carpet, it appeared under our feet. "Nice room" said Fred and George together, "wait what about your TV and bracket?" Bill asked, "oh me and Gin can put that up later" I said, he nodded, "can you guys maybe help bring stuff from Ginny's room over?" I asked, "sure thing, you're our brother now so why not" said Charlie, "thanks" I said gratefully. We all apparated to her room, "mum we're here!" Gin called. Molly came up and beamed at us all, "it's so sweet of you boys to help them move out like this" she said beaming at her sons, "they've been really helpful so far" Ginny said truthfully, "that's nice, and Harry dear, how' sit getting along?" Molly asked, "we've practically finished our living room already" I said, "that's great, maybe I should come over when you've finished the whole house?" She asked, "yeah, that'll be great mum!" Ginny said happily, "well I'll let you guys get on then, Percy's on his way up too" she said walking back downstairs, you could already smell a delicious oder float up that will be our tea. "First, Fred, George, please take the sofa and put it next to our one" Gin said my "sure thing lil sis" they said and dissapeared with it, "next Bill and Charlie take my bed to the bottom of the stairs please" she said, "we'll be back in a min" they said, "Oh Percy! Can you and Ron do the empty spell on my wardrobe and put it next to my bed at the bottom of the stairs?" She asked as Percy arrived, "of course, emptyarmus!" He said pointing to the wardrobe, my clothes landed in front in a neat pile. Ron and Percy picked up two wardrobe carefully and dissaparated,Bill and Charlie arrived again. "Bill please do the empty spell on the dresser" I said butting in, he cats it, the clothes flew out in a neat pile, "ok you two take it next to the rest and we'll all meet you there" I said. They took it and left, Hermione me and Ginny quickly left too. I think Dobby had already gone to Grimmauld Place too. We arrived in the living room, Fred and George were relaxing on the sofa, "Oy no slacking!" I said playfully, they laughed and followed us out to the hallway. "Alright now we've got to... Take the bedroom furniture outside, give us a hand?" I asked as I started upstairs, the master bedroom would belong to me and Gin. The girls waited in the living room, me and Bill took the bed out, Fred and George moving all the photos and stuff took the already empty dresser, Ron and Charlie took the empty wardrobe, and the room was bare. Then us boys started moving the new furniture up whilst the girls grabbed Gin's old clothes ready to put them upstairs. The master bedroom didn't really need painting it was already a warm cream colour with chocolate brown carpet it just needed the brighten spell. I moved all the photos and stuff to Sirius' room for now. "Brightsa paint" I said waving my wand at our new bedroom. It brightened up immediately and looked almost new, "brightsa carpet" I said to the carpet which also looked like it had been restored to newness. "This is so great" Ginny said happily. "Yeah looks alright" said George who was sitting on the bed looking a bit sweaty after all our heavy lifting, we all were sweating though. "How about we take a lunch break?" Hermione suggested looking at her watch. "Is it only lunchtime?" Asked Charlie, "yeah!" Ginny said looking at hers, "well there's a great wizard restaurant just down the street in the town at the back" said Ron, "ok, let's go there... I'm exhausted" said Percy who was looking a bit worse for wear, especially since he wasn't exactly the fittest... We walked out the back door and down the garden. It well... To say it needed improvement is an understatement. the grass was a faded yellow, there were weeds everywhere, there was a faded rickety eyesore fence and leading down the middle of this disgusting garden was some yellow, mossy, crumbling pave stones. "Ugh you need to do some gardening" said Ron pulling a face, I stopped in my tracks and turned to face him, "yes Ron, because my list of priorities consists mostly of gardening" I said sarcastically, his ears turned pink and everyone laughed, "come on" I said jokily, he mumbled something bitterly then half smiled. "Harry this is amazing" said Ginny grabbing my arm, "I know, who knew there was a wizard town so close!" I said, the others followed behind us looking about everywhere like we did. It was kind of like Diagon Alley with houses, "come on, it's just down there" Ron pointed to a lane, we walked down it and you'd never guess where we came out, Diagon Alley! "Surprise!" Said Ron, "wow, Gin, one day when we have kids it'll be so easy to get them Hogwarts supplies!" I said, "ahem" said Bill, "I'm sorry but we are going to have kids some day, man up!" Gin said turning on Bill, his ears turned pink but he said nothing. "So where's this new restaurant?" Asked George, "it's just down by Flourish and Botts, it just opened up this week" said Hermione, "cool let's go" said Percy, we walked down by Flourish and Botts and arrived outside "Food Wand". "This is the place" Ron said, "food wand?" Asked Fred raising his eyebrow, "just go inside" Hermione said. I opened the door, but didn't expect what I saw. Wizards wearing suits flew about on broomsticks, food floating next to them as they zoomed about, mini cauldrons were used instead of glasses, and the seats floated above the floor. "Wow this place is actually pretty cool" admitted Fred, "see!" Said Hermione. A guy flew over on a broomstick, "how many?" He asked, "9 please" Ginny said, the guy whistled, "ok follow me" he said, he flew over our heads and then hovered above a big round table, "here you are" he said, "thanks" said George and the guy flew away. We all sat down, "I have to admit, this is different" said Charlie, "I think it's awesome" said Gin. We ate a great lunch and then went back for more work. "Right what now?" Asked Bill rubbing his hands together, "hallway, we need to buy more paint, carpet and some other things" Ginny said, "ok well us lot can stay here and help when you come back" Percy said, we nodded and disaparate outside IKEA. "Come on trouble" I said jokily to Ginny, she grinned and kissed me before we walked in. We picked up some stuff like a coat rack on the wall, some green carpet (we want a colourful house ok?!?) and some tree patterned wallpaper, a small decorative table to have some flowers on and a clock. We payed and apparated back, "ok, you lot start wallpapering the walls please, Charlie, you switch the carpet please" I said passing him the new carpet, we took it home with us this time. We turned around and the wallpaper was up, "wow, good job" I said, Charlie had already put the carpet down, it went all upstairs and everything but it fitted so well. "Right now can you quickly do upstairs?" Ginny asked, "yeah sure, easy as cake" George said, Fred ran up after him, Percy was just smoothing out the rougher parts. Hermione and Ron were starting to drill a hole in the wall for the clock, "let's do the coat rack?" I suggested, "ok, which way do you want it?" She asked, "whatever you want" I said, "let's do it..." She said scrunching up her face in concentration, "here" she said jogging over to just next to the back door. "Ok, I'll help you" I said, "how do I do it?" She asked, "first take this and drill a hole, here" I said handing her the drill and directing her, she pressed into the wall and pulled it back out, "and another one here" I said and I directed her again. "Ok now what?" She asked, "put these wall brackets in the hole" I said giving them to her and she placed them where we had just drilled, "now we placed the bracket over" I said, she secured it and I screwed in the screws and we attached the coat rack. "Done" I said. She turned around and smiled at me, "thanks" she said before closing the gap between our lips. "Oy no kissing while we're here!" Ron said jokily, "ok no kissing Hermione whilst you're here" Gin laughed, "ok, just one last kiss" he said bracingly, they kissed one more time and looked at us confidently. "Ok, bring it bet we can go longer" I said, "nah me and Ron will" Hermione said. "Wallpaper's done!" Called Fred from upstairs, "ok, thanks!" I called, he came jogging down, "where do you" said George, "want us to put the table" finished Fred grinning, they did that sometimes, finish each other's sentence. "Just at the top of the stairs" Ginny said waving her hand to the blank space on the stairs. "What time is it?" Asked Bill, "umm 4:30" said Charlie looking at the new clock, "ok, well we're going to go to IKEA once more and get stuff for the kitchen and dining room, Bill, Charlie and Ron will be working in two kitchen, Hermione, Percy, Fred and George in the dining room, ok?" I said, everyone nodded. We went and bought, new counters, a new fridge, new curtains for everywhere, a new oven, new cupboards and drawers, new floors and paint/ wallpaper, new lights, a new shelf, a new microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, basically a whole new kitchen then a lovely dining table and chairs, a sideboard, a fruit bowl, table matts and stuff, some flowers just cuz they look nice, a few vases and stuff we missed out in the other rooms, a magazine rack for the living room, 2 bedside cabinets for in our bedroom, a bookcase for our bedroom, 2 bedside lamps, some electric leads and plugs and just some bits and bobs. We took most of it home with us but some was to be delivered, "bloody hell! How much did you buy?" Ron asked as we apparated back our arms full of stuff, "just the essentials" huffed Ginny. We put the odd little bits we missed out around the house. "Guys can you- oh you've done it" I said in surprise as I was led in the kitchen. All they cabinets and fridge and all tart were no longer there, we had a bare kitchen, "we took it out to the garden" said Charlie, Ron walked back in ready to help. "Yeah good thanks..." I said in surprise, "so what can we do?" Asked Charlie, "umm nothing yet, the stiff will arrive any minute now though" I said, "ok, we'll just wait in here" they said. "Harry c'mere!" I heard Gin call, I jogged over to here in the living room, they were all taking a break, "yes my dear?" I asked, "I have the paint and the flooring for the kitchen" she said standing up and handing me a bucket of paint and some black and white tiles, "ok thanks babe" I said. I jogged back to the kitchen, "Charlie please out the floor down, and we need to start painting" I said, Charlie quickly put down the floor and we all summoned rollers. The room was done in like an hour and conveniently as we painted the last but yeh door went, "dry the paint please, I'll get the stuff" I said, Bill nodded pulling out his wand, I jogged over to the door. "Hello come to bring your kitchen?" 2 grumpy looking men asked, "yes just put it all in the hallway for now" I said motioning to where we were, "ok" they said walking to their truck, as they put the stuff in we took it to the kitchen, unwrapped it and started putting it in. They took their money and left without another word. We put in the cabinets, cupboards and drawers first then our larder, then our fridge and oven and all our extras like hob, kettle, toaster ect. The door went again as we worked but Ginny answered it, it was the dining room stuff so she, Hermione, Percy and the twins installed the dining room stuff and walls and floor whilst we continued with the kitchen. We worked fast and used several spells to help us but 5 hours later it was now 10:00 and we had pretty much done. Bill was just finishing off fixing up the tap, he was a very handy guy. I walked through to the dining room and it was perfect, we had a royal purple wallpaper and a cream carpet, we had a rich mahogany table with comfy leather seats around it. We had spare chairs hidden in a secret cupboard that someone had cleaned out, we had a spruce sideboard with cutlery and table matts ect inside. All the lights in the house had been installed probably by the twins and the place looked great. "Ok, let's go to the Burrow for tea, all that's left tomorrow is the library, the bedrooms and bathrooms" I said as we all looked about us appreciatively. "Great we can help you with that so we'll probably be done tomorrow" said Percy happily, we all needed showers really. "Nice job on the kitchen" said Ginny happily, we had a light orangey contrast to the walls. Everything looked great. We went to the burrow and Molly greeted us all happily. "How's the house going?" She asked warmly as we all walked through to the kitchen, "it's nearly done" Ginny said happily, "really? How is it that you did it that fast?" Arthur asked, "we just all worked together and used a bit of.. Magic" said Fred, he had a small pad in his hand and hit sent a small swirl of gold up from his hand gracefully. "Well sit down let's eat! In celebration of Harry and Ginny moving out together!" Molly said happily, we all raised our glasses and drank our pumpkin juice to that. It was one of two best meals, it was only casserole but it was one of the best I've tasted, it was rich in flavour and texture and I ate loads making up for the hardworking I had done today, I had thirds and then we had a rich dairy chocolate cake, I was stuffed and content when we finished, so was everyone else, the atmosphere was then a very happy and lazy one. We all just took showers and went to bed, me and Ginny slept on the sofa. "Can't we just go to our new place?" I asked, "no! I want for us to have one more sleep here!" She said, "but you don't have a bed here anymore!" I said wearily, "but mum's getting a spare soon for if we ever come here" Ginny said, "we'll be moved out by then" I said, "please Harry?" She begged being all cute, "ah! Alright" I said giving in and hugging her, I kissed her forehead and she moved her head up so I kissed her lips instead. "Plus I want our first sleep there to be when it's all done" she said when we broke off the kiss a couple minutes later. "Hmm, fair enough" I sighed. So we surprisingly comfortably slept on the sofa, our last sleep at the burrow, that was kept in our minds as we fell happily asleep in each other's arms....
