Chapter IV | The Lightning's Son

Gabbie's POV

I was stunned for a moment, but then I quickly regained consciousness. I came running for Keith and the manticore right away. Below the manticore, I created a black hole, and it dropped in. Then I immediately made a black hole in the bar's ceiling, from which the manticore tumbled out.

The manticore caught me off guard when it landed on its feet and gave me a furious glare instead of the crash I had expected. As soon as it started to move in my direction, I shot it in the direction of the manticore by creating a ball of darkness on my hand. The manticore smashed against the wall as my attack landed.

"Keith bantayan mo si Ysa maigi. Don't make any movements kung ayaw mong ikaw na lang ang makaalala sa kanya" I instructed Keith then ran towards the manticore.

Keith looked puzzled but he couldn't do anything other than follow my order. My goal is to keep the manticore away from Keith, the manticore can't harm Ysa especially since I'm sure this is Keith's first experience of the time stop. He will be so sad if Ysa ever disappears, and I won't be able to forgive myself if that happens.

Keith's POV

Naguguluhan ako sa mga nangyayari ngayon sa bar. Kanina I was just having fun with the team and our girlfriends, pero ngayon parang tumigil ang oras at may isang halimaw na nakipag-titigan sa'kin na ngayon ay kinakalaban na ang dati kong bestfriend.

I really had no choice but to follow Gabbie's order. Binantayan ko talagang maigi si Ysa. I had no choice but to listen to them because Gabbie seemed to know what they were doing with whatever was going on. I'm scared of what Gabbie is doing right now; I want to help them, but I have to obey them since they are clearly in charge of the situation right now.

Mabilis na tumalon ang halimaw papunta kay Gabbie at medyo nahuli siya ng iwas kaya naman nakalmot nung halimaw ang paa ni Gabbie.

"Shit! You'll pay for this!" Sigaw ni Gabbie saka biglang tumagos sa sarili niyang anino.

The monster was surprised when Gabbie suddenly disappeared.

"Son of Hades, come out of hiding! Fight me, don't be a coward! You will never be able to put an end to the rebellion and win the war. Now allow me to devour both you and the other demigod here!" Madiin na sabi nung halimaw habang naka-tingin sa'kin.

Unti-unting lumapit muli yung halimaw patungo sa direksyon kung 'san ako naka-tayo. Mabilis akong humarang kay Ysa at tinitigan maiigi ang halimaw.

While I was staring at the monster, Gabbie slowly came out of its shadow and was holding a small sword made of darkness. Hindi na nag-sayang si Gabbie ng oras at agad na sinaksak ang halimaw. Hindi naka-iwas ang halimaw pero mabilis itong naka-tabi kaya naman sa bangdang likod lang naisaksak ni Gabbie ang hawak niyang espada.

The creature swiftly used its tail to strangle Gabbie. They were pulled up by the creature, which wrapped its scorpion-like tail around them and pointed it's poisonous end at Gabbie's neck.

"Try using your power now! There is nothing you can do to save yourself, son of Hades; it's game over!" Natatawang lintaya nung halimaw.

Akmang tutusukin na nung halimaw si Gabbie nang biglang madaming kamay ng kaluluwa ang lumabas mula sa lupa at hinawakan ang paa nung halimaw. Agad na sinubukan nung halimaw na kumawala sa pagkaka-hawak nung mga kaluluwa pero wala siyang nagawa.

Agad kong tinignan si Gabbie at nagulat nang makitang humi-hiwalay ang kaluluwa nito mula sa kanyang katawan. Nang tuluyang humiwalay ang kaluluwa ni Gabbie sa kanyang katawan they made a gesture na hindi ko maintindihan at biglang humiwalay na din ang kaluluwa nung halimaw mula sa katawan nito.
