“What is the meaning of this, dad?” It was Ivy’s inquisitive yet disappointed voice.
“Anong ginagawa ng babaeng ‘yan dito?” she hissed.
My lips were still pursed, still comprehending the situation—apparently, I found it hard to digest.
What a twist!
“Sweetheart, calm down. Why are you acting like that? Pinagtitinginan na tayo ng mga tao.” Her father tried to calm her down but she doesn’t seem to care.
“No dad! This is bullshit!”
“Ivory!”
My mother glanced at me. Judging by her expression— she is also confused.
“That girl took everything away from me! And now what? Magiging kapatid ko siya? No, Dad! She’s not even an inch close to me.”
“Wala akong inaagaw sayo, Ivy.” Hindi ko na napigilang sagutin siya.
“Liharra.” My mother warned me but I did not give her a glimpse.
“Yeah?
All eyes were on us. Some waiters attempted to go near us pero dahil narin siguro sa takot na baka madamay ay hindi na lamang nila tinuloy.
We are now creating a commotion here. I clenched my fist, gritted my teeth and took few steps closer towards her position.
In just a snap, my palm landed on her left cheek lurching her head to the opposite direction.
I heard gasps…
“Liharra Maru!” my mother’s rampant voice roared all over the place like a freaking thunder.
My piercing stares did not leave Ivy’s “Nobody gets to call me names.” I said straight in her face firmly.
Her father glared at me and so I looked at him with the same intensity.
My bag fell off my shoulder because of that sudden motion.
In her eyes, I was the villain—isang kontrabida sa buhay niya, sa buhay nila.
“She called us names!” I raised my voice out of frustration. Ma! I wanted to scream that but I don’t even know what to call her— Mama? Nanay? Dang it!
