DAY THREE of the Trial

Katsuki looked at his science test and sighed—23%, which was expected since he did take off in the beginning of class and did not return to finish it. He never got a score lower than 80% in all of his academic career and was bummed his passing streak was over. Thirteen was sympathetic and wrote a note on top of his paper stating he could take a retest for 50%. It wasn't ideal, his 3rd place class ranking would plummet, but at least it wouldn't be at Mina's level.

Speaking of Mina, she had been avoiding Katsuki all day today and yesterday when she came back from the trial with the other classmates—Yaoyorozu, Hagakure, Aoyama, and Tokoyami. In fact, they were all suspiciously avoiding him. When he tried to ask Yaoyorozu about what happened at the trial on Tuesday, she apologized while avoiding his eyes and said she was busy with vice president duties. Okay. Not unexpected. Whatever.

Then he tried looking for Hagakure. That failed spectacularly.

Next was Aoyama. He somehow spoke only perfect French, now. "Désolé! Je ne comprends pas le japonais."

Katsuki then knocked on the door of Tokoyami's dorm room, only for it to creak open to a dark room, a pentagram etched on the floor with incense and candles burning around the perimeter, tiny crow skulls scattered within. Tokoyami muttered phrases of being exposed to unholy, hellish sights that scarred his retinas for life. Katsuki quietly closed the door and noped out of there as fast as possible.

So all that was left was Mina. Except Mina somehow turned into an escape artist that could rival the great Houdini. Katsuki was going to have to catch her during lunchtime, so he waited until after Present Mic finished his lecture and left the podium to strike. Unfortunately, Katsuki was seated in the back of the class, so he'd have to get through several of his classmates to catch up to Mina.

Mina quickly stood from her seat, eyeing Katsuki in the corner of her eye as she tried to make it past the door.

"The hell you running to, Pinky?!" Katsuki roared, pushing a surprised Kirishima and jumping over Sato to reach her.

Iida blocked his way. "Bakugou! You can't just use classmates as a stepping stone! Apologize to Sato," he barked, chopping his hands at Katsuki. Katsuki growled at Iida when he noticed Mina managed to escape.

"Damn it! Thanks a lot, Glasses! I was trying to catch her before she disappeared again! I wanted to ask her what went on in the trial, but she's been avoiding me. They've all been avoiding me! I deserve to know!"

Iida was taken aback. "I'm sorry. I- I had no idea." He hummed in thought, scratching his chin. "I believe I overheard her saying that she was going to eat lunch on the roof with some of the girls. She may be there."

"Thanks!" Katsuki said, running out of the room. He stopped short before quickly apologizing to Sato for stepping on his back to jump (Sato saying he was really okay and understood why Katsuki did what he did) then took the stairs since he was faster than some damn elevator. Katsuki rushed out of the exit and scanned the rooftop. No one was there yet, so he decided to wait next to the door and hide behind it when it opened.

Sure enough, a minute later, Mina, Hagakure, and Yaoyorozu stepped out with their lunches and walked ahead without realizing Katsuki was behind them. He loudly slammed the door, blocking their exit, startling the girls with his presence.

"B-Bakugou!" "Ahhh!" "Blasty?!"

"Well, well, well. Looks like I finally caught you all," he sneered. "Now, why the hell won't any of you tell me what happened yesterday?! Deku's my mate! I demand to know!" Katsuki yelled, igniting a few explosions from his palms for emphasis.
