Omega Conservatorship Passes
Seven New Rules That Will Affect Omegas
By Memida, Orie

June 4th, 2xxx

TOKYO, Japan—It is with great displeasure to announce that the Seven New Powers of Conservatorship Bill drafted by the Cabinet of Ministry of Health has been passed in the House of Representatives by a slim margin.  Many people had believed the bill would have been blocked due to the public's overwhelming disapproval of the government encroaching on civil rights, specifically those having an omega subgender.  However, there still seems to be quite a few far right-wing politicians calling themselves the Alpha Brotherhood, who prefer to subjugate a group of people for their nefarious purposes.

According to the SNPOC law, once an omega is claimed by an alpha, the alpha has legal authority over said omega, from medical to financial, physical and mental health, education, social relations and sexual relations.  If the alpha is found to be incompetent, the government has the right to take the omega away from his/her abuser and assign him/her to a government approved alpha.

"I understand a lot of people will hate this law, but it is meant to protect omegas from other alphas as well as their own alpha from using their vocal commands.  What happens if an omega is forced to commit a crime, or to perform a sexual act against their will, or forced to suffer in silence?  An alpha that cannot protect his/her omega will have lost his/her claim to an omega, and by extension any alpha that attacks another alpha's omega will be punished.  The Abo-2gen contamination made omegas weak, so this law is necessary to protect our most vulnerable subgenders," stated Sanni Gako, a Brotherhood supporter.

An opponent of the bill, Menda Honoki, stated otherwise.  "Hell no!  This bill is filled with so many flaws.  You don't expect a normie to give up all their civil rights once they wed someone, right?  So why should you expect people with subgenders to agree with the bill?  There has to be equality on both sides, or it's an imbalance of power.  This is practically abuse.  I acknowledge that alphas having the ability to vocal command someone is dangerous, but we should focus on punishing the actual alpha, not ripping away omegas' rights."

Although the bill was passed through the House of Representatives, it still needs to pass through the House of Councillors before SNPOC law can be presented to the Emperor and signed into law.  There is still hope that the bill will be rejected.

If Katsuki could blow up his phone without getting injured again, he'd do it in a heartbeat after reading the shitty article.  "The fuck did they pass this shit for?!"

"Pass what shit, Kacchan?" Izuku asked as he prepared breakfast for them in their dorm room before heading to school.

"Some stupid bill that restricts omega rights.  Damn Brotherhood bastards don't know when to stop even when everyone is telling them to stick it up their ass," Katsuki explained, placing his phone on the kitchen counter, then pouring himself some orange juice.  "And not in a fun way."
