"Yeah?" You ask as you quickly pull a fresh shirt on then turn around.
"What do you want? I'm trying really hard to figure this whole thing with us out but I don't want to do the wrong thing. I need you to tell me what you want from me." He says, none of the playfulness in his voice like a few moments ago.

"I don't know." You answer.
"You don't know?"
"I don't know, ok? I've never been in this situation before." You answer honestly. "I'm not exactly a fan of having connections with someone other than a physical one. I don't fuck people I actually like."
"So you do like me." He says and takes a step towards you. "That's why you stopped last night, it wasn't just me."
"You should go." You tell him.
"Why?"
"Because I'm not doing this. I'm sorry for sending you mixed signals but I can't do this."
"No attachments." He says.
You nod.
"What happened?" He asks.
"What do you mean?"
"Who hurt you that you're so afraid of being close to people?"
"No one. I just don't see any point to starting anything that won't last. Why go through shit if you don't have to? People can't be trusted anyway." You answer.
"You've never been in a relationship?"
"No."
"Ever?"
"Never wanted one. I like you, I do, but I'm not a relationship person."
"You aren't or you don't want to be?"
You're relieved when the phone rings, giving you an excuse to avoid the conversation.
