Eddie's POV

It's been almost a month since I ended things with Sam. It hurt like a bitch but, I couldn't handle seeing her like that with those men.

Steve ripped me a new one for the way I handled the situation and continued to until about a week ago when he finally gave up. I can't blame him, I did not handle things well. I know that. Can't change it now though.

I tried to apologize once, but Sam wouldn't see me. Told me through the door that if it was truly over, she couldn't handle being around me. I asked to be friends. She stopped responding while I kept talking to her door until Steve told me to just go.

I can't think about her without wanting to drive to their place and beg for her to take me back but, I can't. Instead I focus on work.

I got a job at a garage and try to just focus on that and the band. It was between the garage or going out to the mill with Wayne. Not that there's anything wrong with the mill, it's just not my thing. Plus, the garage works better for the band. Would've been better for spending time with Sam too, which was part of why I had picked it before we broke up.

The kids keep asking what happened but, Steve and Robin are right, they don't need to know everything. They just know it's over and I've been miserable as they prepare to go back to school.

I miss her so much. Even if I did go begging, would she even want me back after what I said? She should hate me, I kinda hate me right now.

"Munson, bay three!" My boss hollers and tosses some keys at me.

I freeze.

I know this little voodoo doll keychain. I found it after a show and Sam was obsessed with it.

Yep, there's Fern. And Sam.

She's staring right at me and then just like that, she's pushing the door open and bolting.

"I'm going on lunch." I tell my boss once Fern is done and wait outside.

"What are you doing here?" I ask as Steve walks up to the building.

"Sam asked me to pick up her car." He answers.

"Did she know I was here?"

"No." He answers. "I told her it was your day off. I thought maybe if you guys saw each other though..."

"She took off the second she saw me. Where is she?"

"She's waiting over at the supermarket."

I cross the street and see Steve's BMW. She's not in it so I go inside.

"What's going on?" I ask when I see Sam crying, the kids around her.

She pushes past me with a heartbreaking look.

"What did you do?" I ask the kids.

"You dumped her?" Dustin asks.

Shit.

"You've been all moody and hurt, and you're the one that did the breaking up?" He asks.
