Eddie's POV

"Maybe we should call Hopper." I tell Steve as he sips his coffee through slitted eyes.

"Munson, if you woke me up this early to be all jealous and annoying, go home." He replies.

"I'm not jealous!"

I'm beyond jealous. Sam didn't come home last night. I know this because we all came back to Steve's for a few hours before I took Victoria home. When I left her place to go home, Sam's Rover was still parked in the same spot at The Hideout as when we left.

"You are so jealous." Robin croaks from the couch. "I thought you said you were done with all of this. You have Victoria, she's nice."

"I am. And she is. But have you ever noticed how she smacks her gum when she chews it? Or the way she eats, taking tiny little bites like a bird?"

"Dude, you are looking for shit to be wrong with her. Leave Sam alone, stay out of her business as far as her love life is concerned." Steve tells me.

"You think they're together?" I ask.

Steve rubs his face in frustration with me.

"Did you leave here last night and have sex with Victoria?" Robin asks as she carefully sits up.

"Yeah." I answer a little awkwardly.

"There ya go. You aren't allowed to play all hurt and jealous when you're with someone else too. You have a girlfriend, Eddie. If you don't like her, break up, but you can't." Robin stops talking as her cheeks puff up and she runs to the bathroom.

"She's right." Steve says. "If you're just using Victoria, you need to end things. It's not fair to her."

"I like her."

"Then get over this jealousy nonsense. It's not a good look. You and Sam are finally becoming real friends. Don't mess it up, she won't let you back into her life at all if you do."

"Ok. Just. Is she serious about him?"

Steve rolls his eyes but answers anyway.
"They've flirted, that's it. But, she likes him. Says he's always nice and keeps an eye out for her when people get rowdy with her. Not that she needs it."

I nod my head.

That's good. It's good. Sam deserves someone that's nice. She deserves to be happy. I want her to be happy.

Fuck. I fucked everything up. I want her to be happy with me.

"You're the one that ended things." Steve reminds me as he watches me think.

"I know." I reply quietly.

Biggest mistake of my fucking life.

"She's finally getting her life back together. Don't do anything." Steve cautions me.

I nod and slink into the chair opposite him.

Steve squints his eyes from the sound of the phone ringing as he reaches up to it on the wall.

"This is Steve."

I watch as his expression turns to worry while he listens to the other end of the line.

"No, no. She's not here. She. She, uh. She met someone last night. She's probably still with him." He says then listens again. "I don't think I really need to tell you that, it's her business who she sees."

It's muffled but I can hear the other end of the line yelling.

"Chill out, Hop. She's fine. I'm sure of it." Steve says. "I'll be down there soon."
