Bakugo was discharged from the hospital that morning after they checked to see if all broken bones were healed.
They told him his chest would still hurt because they weren't focusing on healing the bruise, while he could remove the bandage on his shoulder, put this ointment on it, and replace it- since they were afraid of what would happen if they used a healing Quirk to heal something touched by a Quirk already.
Todoroki and Kirishima were long gone at that point, but they still visited every day, with Shinso. Bakugo didn't know why they did that, but he concluded that if they continued to talk to him in school he might just invite them to his house.
Might.
And very subtly.
He had asked both his parents if they were available to take him home, but they were not. They said "why don't you ask one of your friends?" and he said "fuck no."
So here he was, fresh out of the hospital, waiting at the train station. He decided to check his phone, and saw there was a new group chat.
