"Come on, just one date?" Sodapop pleaded. You were the one girl in Tulsa that wasn't chasing after Soda, and apparently he liked that. You didn't.

"For the last time, no," you stated. "Damn, Sodapop, can't you take a hint? I'm not interested."

He just smirked. "I guess I can't. I'll get you to say yes one of these days. Just you wait and see."

You rolled your eyes. "Dream on." You started to walk away, but Soda ran in front of you, blocking the way. "Now, if you could get out of my way..."

Soda shook his head. "Nope. Not until you agree to go on a date with me."

This time you smirked. "Than I guess we'll be standing here a while cause I ain't giving in. I don't have to be anywhere."

His smug expression totally dropped. "But- I thought- ugh!" He looked really frustrated. "Why won't you just go on a freakin date with me? Just one. What do you have against me, anyway?"

This took you aback. You really didn't know why you didn't like him. "I don't know.... I guess I felt like I needed to be the one person that doesn't like you cause everyone loves Sodapop Curtis," you stated. You meant it sarcastically, but it didn't really come out that way.

"That's kinda harsh, don't ya think?" he asked, shaking his head. "Not everybody likes me, and even if they do, why would that have anything to do with you?"

"Look," you sighed heavily, "I'm used to being a last choice for the people I love, and I don't need that from anybody else, alright?" You were on the verge of tears, but you held them back. "Now, please just let me go, Soda."

Soda's expression looked genuinely sad, not just sympathy. "Why would someone ever choose you last? You're amazing, beautiful, funny, and so much more. I don't see how anyone couldn't see that."

You looked at him to see if he was joking, but he looked earnset. "Do you really think that? You're not just saying that because I'm upset?"

He nodded. "Of course. I actually really like you. That's why I'm always pestering you," he confessed, his face turning a shade pink.

You pulled Sodapop into a hug. He held you tight against him. "Soda, I'm sorry for being a bitch to ya for so long. I do like you, but I just didn't wanna get thrown aside again."

"I understand, Y/N," he whispered. He let go of you and stepped back a step. "Now.... About that date...."

You rolled your eyes. "I'll call you later, okay?"

His usual smirk reappeared on his face. "Alrighty then, Sweetheart." He blew a kiss to you as you walked away.

You just shook your head but smiled at his gesture. You were kind of relieved to have him understand. You were kind of looking forward to planning a date with Soda.

I know... I should watch my language, but oh well. What are ya gonna do? I like how this one turned out, and I hope you did too. Thanks for reading as usual. M'kay.
