You were waiting outside of the dance studio for your brother, Two-bit, to pick you up. Practice ended almost half an hour before, and he still wasn't there.
You then saw his car pull into the parking lot and up to the curb. The window rolled down as it stopped in front of you.
Two looked at you with an apologetic smile on his face. "Sorry, Rach! I, uh, had something to take care of," he said, clearly hiding something. Not that you cared, he had things to 'take care of' quite often.
"Whatever," you muttered, rolling your eyes. You hopped into the passenger's seat.
"We're going to Darry and Soda's place," he informed you as he drive past the road he normally took to go home. "Mom's gonna be at work all night, and I have plans, so you need someone to be with tonight."
"I don't need Darry to babysit me," you argued. You really didn't mind going over to the Curtis house, you just didn't like being treated like a kid.
"Pony's gonna be there," he teased. He knew you had a not-so small crush on Ponyboy.
You rolled your eyes again, but a blush had crept to your face. "Shut up." You glared at him before pulling your brown hair out of the bun it was in and began to braid it.
You guys got to the house, and Two stayed for about an hour before leaving to go to whatever it was he had plans for.
You had been working with Pony on some homework, when he asked you a random question.
"Hey, Rachel," he started. "You, uh, you know that dance on Saturday?"
Your heart skipped a beat. You had been hoping he'd ask you. "Yeah. What about it?"
"Well, I'm a hopeless dancer, and I don't wanna look like an idiot, and you're a really good dancer.." he rambled on before trailing off a little. "Well, I thought you could show me how to dance."
"Oh, sure," you agreed. You were a little disappointed, but it was still something. You stood up, you both walked over to an open area of the living room. You held out your arms in the position they needed to be. "Come here. Take this hand... Put that one right there.." You guided him so that he was positioned just right.
You started with simple moved, and since he was a pretty fast learner, you easily moved on to more advanced steps. After almost two hours of dancing, you two decided on a break.
"You're really good, Pony," you noted. "Whoever you're taking to the dance is one lucky broad."
"Yeah, but the thing is, I haven't asked her yet," he admitted. "I just don't really know how."
You weren't sure how to feel. This could've meant anything. "Well, I think you should just be upfront to her," you replied honestly. "Girls like straightforwardness."
He looked at down at his lap, at his fidgeting hands. "Girls like you?" he mumbled.
"What?" you asked, confused.
Before you had time to even blink, his lips had crashed into yours. It took you by surprise, but you eventually got into the kiss. He pulled away and stared into your honey colored eyes with his grayish-green ones.
"Rachel, I really, really like you. Will you be my girl?" he inquired all in one breath.
You couldn't help but smile real big. "Of course!" You hugged him.
"Well, since your my girl and all now..." he started, a large smile across his face. "Wanna go to the dance with me?"
I really hope you like it! And I'm sorry I have updated. I know it's been only two days, but it feels like longer. Thanks for requesting! You guys are the bomb diggity (bc I have little-no life, I say stuff like that). Love y'all! M'kay.
