"Oh come on! One more, please, Steve!" you begged, using your puppy dog face because you knew he couldn't refuse.
"Oh alright," he gave in. He shook his head. "I don't know how you always do that to me."
"It's because you love me!" you stated, like it explained everything.
"Yeah, I guess," he said, smiled at you and kissed your nose.
Steve had been your boyfriend for a year and a half. Today, he was off work, and the fair was in town. He decided to take you since you two rarely ever got any time together. You guys had ridden almost all of the rides, and Steve was getting tired, but you were still wound up from the cotton candy you just had.
You dragged Steve to a ride you hadn't gone on yet, which happened to be the Ferris Wheel. It was the highest ride at the fair, and Steve wasn't real keen on heights.
"Uh.... Y/N," he said, stopping before you got in line. He looked up at the ride, gulping. "I don't know about this one."
"Aw! Steve, please!" you pleaded. "I promise it'll be fine. I'll hold you the whole time, okay?"
He slowly nodded, and you pulled him into the line next to you. Soon, it was your turn to get on. Steve looked even more nervous. You gripped his hand, assuring him you were right there. You both climbed onto the bench and the carny secured the safety bar. You two were the last on, so the ride started to spin around.
You were mesmerized by the view, and you looked over at Steve to see if he was enjoying it too, but his eyes were closed. His hand was gripping yours kind of tight but not enough to hurt you.
"Stevie?" you said in a sing song voice. "Please, open your eyes, Babe. I promise it'll be fine."
He nodded and slowly opened his eyes. He kept his eyes trained on you the whole time. "Hey, this ain't so bad." He smiled at you.
"See? I told you," you stated, matter-of-factly.
Steve finally ventured a look over the cart. He looked kind of scared at first, but he looked around at all of the other rides and games. The lights made his face light up with different colors, and he looked at you with a smile of pure joy. He looked like a kid having the me of his life.
"Oh, Y/N, look over there!" he would say, pointing over to something at the other side of the fairgrounds.
It made your heart swell with happiness to see him enjoying himself so much. You loved him so much, and you liked it when he was happy.
Soon, the ride was over, and you two got off. Steve was bouncing with excitement.
"Can we go on again?" he begged, practically jumping up and down. "Come on! Please?"
You laughed at his childlike behavior, even though you had done the same exact thing earlier. "I had to practically drag you on there, and now, you're begging to ride again? Oh you goofball. Yeah, I guess. Let's get in line."
He broke out into a huge smile and kissed you square on the lips. "Thank you! Let's go! Hurry up!"
You continued to laugh as you watched him as you two waited in line again. He was so happy, and you wished that you could be in this moment forever. With him so happy, and you being happy just because he was. It was absolutely perfect to you.
Personally, I feel like this one turned out really well. It's cute, and just when I thought I was getting writer's block again, I come out with this one.
Did that sound weird to anyone else? I fell like I should word that differently, but Idk how... Whatever. M'kay.
